As Deadheads are typically accustomed to shunning the album versions in favor of the live, i've always quite enjoyed the Reflections version of TLEO. And especially during the chorus where Jerry adds in some plucking lines. Like leading into the F chord he hammers an open D note to E, then hits Bb A C. Then after the F chord he slide a G note A then hits C, then A C again, then D E G E and back to the G chord. Something like that.

I hadn't listened that one in so long. Just checked it out, so good. Kind of an in between tempo.

Thank you Jeff… this is an incredible video. My band decided to add this to our set. Always intimidating when I take on something Jerry did. This video opened TLEO up for me in a way that I feel like I understand the song and have ideas for how to approach the Jerry parts. Thank you so much… I am grateful for your work!

Jeff. Great lessons. Thank You. Really love the way you break them down, the main groove with some explanation of scale approach , chords, style, etc, as well as, leaving open for us to explore. You strike a good balance, not over done, rather just enough to grasp the essential groove and its parts. I appreciate that you are doing bass lessons (Phil's parts). They are done in the same fashion. love them. Not many people doing the bass parts on CZcams, if they are, most are just playing along with song, no instruction, no insights, etc. Keep the bass lessons coming! man. So appreciate!!!

Dude excellent lesson, you opened up the whole thing for me with the solo lesson wow the thirds and sixth really make the solo sweet. I’ve always struggled with vocal melody oriented lead playing. You really got me to understand it better. Beautiful playing btw. Thanks again for another great video

Hey thanks, glad to hear it's helpful. Yeah, if you're into the melody based approach, check out my Vocal Melody for Guitar series if you haven't already. I haven't made one in awhile but am starting to get the itch to get back into them. Here's the complete playlist: czcams.com/play/PLWbyLS1VMRzh1Zbrn4QNENN5hro31FYt_.html
