3:54 as it turns out ghats can't spawn midair but only on the ground and they just kind of float up so the slabs solve that :) thanks for visiting

I've followed instructions to make a ghast tear farm--I used a whooooole lot of slabs, but I wasn't sure how many y-levels I had to cover.
Also they specifically need neitherrack to spawn on.

Also, that highway with Soul Soil and Buttons was made for Soul Speed Boots - a very fast way to travel in the nether. 5:44
The soul soul + button combo isn't actually meant for boats. Its meant for the Soul Speed enchantment... The buttons are there to stop mob spawning, because nether mobs require a LOT of light to prevent them from spawning.
I think Toycat's forgotten the Superflat lessons.

@@PSNProperty_Damage boats over buttons works with ice, the buttons basically just make the boats go slightly higher so you can get by with less ice blocks. it never worked with soil sand/soil though
3:49 Ghast wont spawn, because there is no valid block for them, to spawn on.
It is a wide misconception, that flying mobs spawn in the air. They spawn above a spawnable block.
Since all the hub floor is half-slab or glass, not a single mob can spawn. Not even a floating one, like a ghast🤗
For the tree encasings, i'm not sure, but i guess, there is not enough free space directly above.
5:23 This might be the reason why the stair top-half slabs are buttoned. The light level prevents any other mob from spawning anyway, so only ghast are left.

One thing I do with in my Nether is in the Warped Forest I build a house & a Cow enclosure so I can get Milk buckets for when I encounter Wither Skeletons.

Buttons are used in nether hubs to stop mobs from spawning on those blocks, they are cheap and blocks like ice and soul soil keep their effects even with the buttons. The boat bug was patched a few years ago and most of the players probably didn't even know it existed. Soul soil doesn't slow you down and if you have soul speed 3 you will walk really fast.
The Nether in my main survival word is an absolute mess, I destroyed so much of it for the blocks I needed for my overworld project but this inspired me to clean it up and build something. I especially liked the one with all the redstone contraptions; what an amazing idea.

One thing I did in my Nether was create a “ring road” that allows me to explore the overworld by way of pre-built Nether highways. It’s not the best, considering that in some parts of the highway I am literally walking level with lava - but it works for me.

The house in Realm 4 comes from the new Creative Book for Minecraft by Mojang. I have that house in my world too.

The reason the pig bartering farm works is that it cancels out the animation for the “trading” since it gets mad that the gold block is moving. But I think the guy put the loop on a really slow loop, bc the one I had could go really fast, but maybe for lag issues and because the gold stream runs out rq when you do it fast
If I am understanding, the gold block moving makes trading faster?
Are there any instructions online for making copies of realms? I've been on the same one on my own for 18 months and once the castle is done I want to show it

Im a solo player, so it seems so weird people label their nether dimensions with directions and stuff.
I also guess it seems im in the minority of players cause i have several 1000 blocks+ pathways in the nether, but a lot of these guys have everything close together

My nether is a sad nether. It has 1 tunnel that leads to a village that has some of my farms, and it branches off at some point to go to the nether fortress. It has a piglin trading farm under the tunnel but i never spent much time there

Most of the time, the moment I enter the nether, I die. That's it. I usually get extremely unlucky with my spawn, and even worse luck with finding a nether fortress. How do people even play this game?
Stop looking for the fortress. As soon as you do that you will find 3 all right next to each other. I swear that’s how I find them. Or use chunkbase

The nether is indeed evil. I have been “slow-running” for years now (a habit I picked up from Toycat! 😊), and my goal when I enter the nether is now to find a warped fungus (the little mostly-blue mushrooms the big warped “trees” grow out of). They are also found in crimson forests. I’d say at least half the time, the nether is total trash; soul sand valley/basalt delta as far as the eye can see; but if I can snag a warped fungus, I can fish for a saddle in the overworld, turn my fishing rod into a warped fungus on a stick, and ride a strider around the lava lakes in the nether. This significantly increases my chances of finding those elusive Bedrock nether fortresses. I generally enter the fortress by putting my trusty strider in a 2x2x2 hole and spiraling up inside a fortress leg. Then I go about creating a safe box for myself to venture from. Have the best armor and weapons you can; even leather armor and a stone sword are better than nothing and wood! It does also help to enter the nether with at least one piece of gold armor or get one ASAP by mining nether gold, and also to mine more nether gold to trade with piglins for various useful items, but that’s a side project, and anyway, mining the gold in and of itself irritates the piglins! 😮💨
@@misspatvandriverlady7555 It's ALWAYS the gold armor. I tend to speedrun going to the nether, I even use speedrun strats for making a portal without diamonds, since I don't wanna use the ones I have. I used to have trouble finding ANY diamonds, but now I either don't try because villagers are op, or I just save them until I'm about to beat the ender dragon. Once I make a nether portal, I usually can't progress because I can't find a nether fortress or I get a dog awful spawn location. Though it's usually Piglins that kill me the most. They spawn in every place that isn't the basalt place, but then the ghasts and magma cubes spawn a ton in those places.
Wide open spaces are no problem, Ghasts only spawn on blocks on the ground.
I was going to say you had good luck to even get to the nether in that third world. I thought you'd die before spawning in.
I've had that happen so often that I refuse to bring anything valuable through a new portal.
My best work is probably the bastion I've cleared out. It's my base in the nether because my first portal spawned there.
I waste a lot of time building my tunnels through the Nether, brightly colored and striped for visibility, underground, across lava oceans, wherever. I put windows and doors in them, and the piglins are usually considerate enough to close the doors behind them. Barter farms can be useful for some things, like fire protection potions, if you don't mind digging through a lot of gravel.
I'm in Java, so I've gotten to the point where i just blow holes in the nether roof and fly around freely and safely. I used to make little tunnels, but never full on rooms. These look pretty good.
the console nethers are weird. On my world the bedrock wall mostly disappeared leading out to the new terrain. On my brothers world the bedrock wall is still there but if you glitch through it or delete the bedrock, the new terrain continues

this is why I hate the bedrock nether. Spawning in for the first time in iron and being shot by ghasts before you can even do anything because of that stupid loading screen.

How do you not know bottom slabs and glass spawn proof the area in the nether? That's how they prevent ghasts from spawning in the hub. The buttons are also for spawn proofing. Once again, how do you not know this yet comment on Minecraft. It's spawn proofing 101 due, right up there with light levels...

I don't think realm 6 tunnel is the slowest way. If I'm correct sprint jumping in 2 blocks tall tunnel is the fastest way you can go with only your legs. Maybe I'm incorrect or it's java only… I probably need to read something about mc movement mechanics.
Sprint jumping works in both Java and Bedrock. I usually have 2 block tall tunnels in my Nether to sprint jump through until I'm motivated to upgrade them.

Why does your health take so long to regen? It happens twice in the video, you eat and the health takes a couple minutes to regen. Shouldn't it just be a few seconds?
