    Why your cpu downclocking to 2Ghz?6300/7300 have turbo speeds up to 3/3.1Ghz.For some reason, it's not working.Maybe temperatures was too high!

    • @Hubwood
      @Hubwood  Před 6 lety +2

      TypeKraken
      1. The all core turbo of the 6300hq is 2.8 (that's why I downclocked the 7300 to match that). But it's not always using those 2.8 Ghz if the GPU is the bottleneck. Temperatures for this cpu are perfectly fine so it won't thermal throttle at all. It's just how laptops behave.

    • @rrrhade8512
      @rrrhade8512 Před 6 lety

      czcams.com/video/bP_GbKprryU/video.html

    • @Hubwood
      @Hubwood  Před 6 lety +3

      TypeKraken I know. But the 6300hq only has an all core turbo of 2800mhz. To match both cpus I downclocked the 7300hq to 2800 Mhz, so both cpus would be identical and only the GPU made the difference.

    hi I have a question, with a Asus Rog GL 752VW with a Nvidia 960M, can I devolop with unity and Unreal engine?

    • @alixey59
      @alixey59 Před 4 lety

      With Unity - yes, absolutely. I have a laptop with 1050Ti and i7-7700HQ, have no problems with Unity at all.
      Unreal... Well, the engine is garbage, Imho. Because it has some weird issues with laptops: like drastically dropping performance for 10-15 seconds every minute or two in editor. It's not in play mode, it's just in editor, you play around with assets on the scene, move and rotate things and than you suddenly get 1-2 fps for no reason. It worked this way on my old laptop with 750m, it works the same on my current 1050Ti laptop.
      Not to mention the ridiculous things like broken projects when you delete a *.c file from the project, and then the editor says "Hey, I'm not gonna load the project. You have compile errors, fix them first." The funny thing is there's no compile errors in IDE, I've refactored the code before deleting that unnecessary class from the project. But the Epic Fail Editor doesn't care, and I have no access to the project at all. At the same time Unity always allows me to load the project and check errors in the editor along with the IDE. And in general Unity is totally superior when it comes to usability and stability. Yeah, UE4 has prettier graphics abilities, but who cares if the engine sucks in general?

The battery is the best part at 43 percent wear level and 512 cycle count it still lasts about 1 hour and 30 minutes. I also have the Acer Nitro 5 I7-7700HQ with a gtx 1050tI from 2017 the Asus is from 2016. If it wasn't for the battery dieing in the Acer I would have never bought the Asus laptop.

      I didn't OC it. I know it looks like it's too high, but I double checked it.
      The 1205 Mhz for the 960m is fine. The 1050 should tell us 1500 Mhz but shows these 1720 Mhz instead. If I overclock it with 190 Mhz (Core) and 350 Mhz (Memory) it actually shows 1900 Mhz!
      So I'm guessing either MSI Afterburner is giving wrong numbers (which I think is happening here, because when I don't game it shows 0 C° and 0 Mhz for Core and Memory on the GTX 1050) or my Modell would be 200 Mhz too high which I don't think is true cause then temperatures would be much higher.

    • @Hubwood
      @Hubwood  Před 5 lety +1

      Viktor, to clarify: There is no visual difference. But the GTX 1050 can display the visuals FASTER. Meaning with more FPS (frames per second).
      The FPS Value (white number) is the only interesting fact in this video.
      Gamers usually need at least 30 FPS at all times to have the impression of "fluent" gaming. Some even need at least 60 FPS.
      To achieve that with slower Grahic Cards, you need to lower the graphic settings and/or resolution.
      The 1050 is quite a bit faster and therefore safer for the future. It will last longer and it will be able to play newer games with 30fps or more more likely.

      Dude no. Underclocking the cpu on the 1050 laptop makes sure both laptops have the same cpu power.
      The 1050 is just alot faster as the 960m. You can also see that comparing the pure 3dmark graphics score BTW. Which doesn't give a shit on the cpu ;)

      2. Again: The CPU Temperature has nothing to do with the GTX 1050. That is an issue connected to the Laptops cooling system. Sure, a cool Laptop is nice to have. But there are plenty of laptops with a 960m that run hot, and plenty with a 1050 that stay cool.

    Don't buy a laptop with a 960m... it's awfull... Believe me. I have one. Even with 16gb ram and an i7 6700 HQ it's terrible... buy a desktop instead. Or on laptop with a 1060. But remember, the pc will get too hot and in summer you can cook an egg on it. Go for the desktop

      And the GPUs are still kind of "converted".
      The Laptop version of the 1050 is slower than the desktop version.
      It will always be like that as long as the power draw/wattage is just not possible for desktops in that price range.
      A 1050 for Laptops uses around 40-50 Watt
      A 1050 for Desktops uses 75 Watt.
      A 1080 for Laptops uses 150 Watt
