Oh oh oh holy shit, with that line about "safe link to the past", that'd be a super cool followup if you took two levels from portal reloaded or whatever is called, with the green portals that takes you into the future and back!
Like, I don't know how you're coding this, if it's made to work directly on an n64 or not. But whatever the engine it is, if it could be mixed and matched, I would love to see time frames to travel to beat the game, each with its own graphics. Like, the n64 bits could be labeled as "that time at aperture, before they finished building the guns and the test facility, they did some body horror , built a virtual mockup of the eventual facility, and put hundreds of electrodes into "the volunteer", so that they dream a simulation of the lab.
And then you could portal into regular graphics portal, where they claim they removed the electrodes and you have to escape. And then find green portal into the future but with EXCELLENT graphics.
I buy that sigh unseen. Especially if you got to go back and forth between the n64 "simulation" and the 4090x hyperreal future!

You could say the same for:
      Portal 2 remaster: Boring
Portal 3 announced: me jumping up in my seat
Why don't they finally do this? Apparently they are acknowledging the popularity of Portal, why won't they finally make a 3rd game? 1 was awesome, 2 was spectacular. A third one could rock the world.

the great thing is, a company like Valve would probably allow you to release this. Heck, they would probably help you do a limited edition run of them on actual N64 cartridges that work on real N64 hardware. They could do it a raffle or something for charity too!
Now all we have to do is find a way to summon Gaben!

  • @ScottLarsenThePilotwingsFan

I got chills from that... Time to shop for an everdrive

This is obvs incredible, but I am curious as to why there seems to not be any vertex color applied to the level geometry. I think it would add so much to the look and vibe, even just faked ambient occlusion in the corners would do wonders.

@@avasam06 to be fair, if the developer came to Valve and said, "ive ported your game to the nintendo 64, I need nothing from you but your seal of approval", Valve would maybe be willing. Sorta like the nvidia rtx portal 1. I'd be more worried about nintendo trying to pull some shit
