Yes, the Feb 28 incident. But people in taiwan just easily painted as "pro-democracy" event because of political reason.
@@kkf54353 Yes, the cause of that incident was quite complicated. As far as I know, it was those ex-IJA Taiwanese soldiers who really started it. The tension between KMT authority and Taiwanese was very tough, like a barrel of dynamite which only need a spark to explode.

In fact, the Nationalists significantly outnumbered and were better armed than the Communists, who relied merely on rural support and basic "millet plus rifles." The Communists succeeded through mass mobilization and winning the hearts of the people, with their ultimate secret weapon being a commitment to practical reality. In contrast, the Nationalists represented the aristocratic class (also referred to as the bourgeoisie), characterized by their daily focus on self-interest and fear of personal loss, making their downfall inevitable. Regardless of whether the Communist Party still retains its original principles today, having risen from humble beginnings to become a global power second only to the USA, it is evident that their ability to focus efforts on major initiatives continues to propel the Chinese people further.
That was only the case in 1945. By 1948 the war had turned conventional. The CCP was able to stood up a large conventional army using captured Japanese/Nationalist equipment and was launching counterattacks.
And lmao, the CCP today is ONLY focuses on retaining its own power. The entire power structure in mainland China is weighted towards keeping themselves in power.

Fighting already started prior to Japanese surrender. The CCP constantly attacked and subjugated NRA units in Northern China throughout the war. The United Front was dead years before the war ended.

After that video I think it should be good to make another about the Korean war (more detailed than existing ones) with background (deploying Soviet and U.S. troops in the northern and in the southern parts of Korea respectively after its liberating from Japanese; creating Nothern Communist and South pro-Western Korean governments; the direct military actions).

Seeing from this map, seems like KMT did fairly well up to the end of 1947. Some memoirs of KMT generals I read claim that the KMT leaders believe the the war went well up to fall of Jinan.

It did go well at first. Chiang had deployed his best forces into Manchuria.
The issue is that the NRA was unable to take Harbin, and the CCP eventually was able to exploit the salient and destroy the NRA.

Because let’s face it: Even though the Soviets handing over Manchuria and a bunch of captured Japanese equipment to the communists, the KMT really should’ve won.

Yep. The Nationalists had military advisors, a modern air force, tons of arm shipments and other military aid…
The U.S. did everything short of sending large numbers of ground troops to aid the KMT, and Chiang still managed to lose.
The Soviets held important ports like Dalian though until after the Korean War; while carting much of the Manchurian assets off back to Europe, the Soviet "aid" to PRC were to be paid back later by raw materials. The Russian expansionist mindset made sure had N. Korea proceeded well, they'll want to have a pie on the Korean Peninsular too; if Kim failed to manage it and asked for "assistance" from the Soviets, even better. Bizarrely the Chinese and N.Koreans, surely aware of Stalin's scheme, were able to create a status quo around the 38th parallel without the direct involvement of the Red Army.
From what I know, the KMT leaders were hopelessly corrupt and their forces had been exhausted by the IJA, while the CCP gathered its forces in the countryside while mostly avoiding the Japanese. The fact that the KMT sacrificed millions of Chinese people to slow down the IJA (like in the Yellow River flood, which killed at least 400,000 people) didn't help
War is not a simple computation of armed force strength
Army morale, organisation of supplies, and most importantly the support of people
You can research a bit on how corrupt KMT was around that time
Technically the war never ended, because the Usa continue to support the rump state regime on Taiwan island.

@@shirmanluo4342 西北马家军的马虎山，wiki上面有介绍，还有一个词条叫全国大剿匪，具体书籍的话都是大陆的书
还有退守缅甸，越南的国军。也有几十万，实际上国民党退守台湾后，加上各个地方的部队，还是有接近一百万的士兵。不然你以为蒋介石哪里来的勇气反攻大陆。
蒋介石到后面的朝鲜战争中国共产党打败了美国为首的联合国军，和后面的中美建交。这才让他真正的死心了。

这样来看，解放战争中有一块非常重要的解放区：河北中南部。1947年重点进攻，陕北和山东解放区被极大缩小，剩下的解放区要承担大量军队的开销，经济非常困难。而河北中南部作为一块相对平静的解放区，又是大平原，这里生产的大量粮食可以供给陕北、山东，极大缓解了两地的物资短缺和经济困难。不看战线的话还真的看不出来河北的解放区有多么重要。
不用看战线, 自古以来 河北四州, 河南中原 就是产粮食大平原大平地, 刘秀 曹操 袁绍,唐朝河北三镇, 都是得到河北 都会做大做强
@@kakalee3464 一般战乱时期河南河北基本上都是被打烂的状态，不仅没有多余的粮食支援战场，还经常造成大量流民迁徙，进一步加剧其他地方的粮食压力（当然也可以补充人力）。而在解放战争时期，河南、山东都是主战场，唯独河北中南部相对平静，这个稳定的大后方产粮区太关键了，没有河北的话陕北和山东不知道能不能挺过47年。

因为当时的河北中南部抗战之后就没什么可以大兵团长期占据的城市战略要点，譬如邯郸在抗战之后人口也就一万多人，城市规模也就是类似于现在的乡镇，在军事上面的意义还不如有正太铁路经过的石家庄以及冀北的张家口，再加上46年的邯郸战役国军败了之后就没再从平汉线向北进攻，反而把进攻重点转向苏北和山东。冀南当时也就永年城一个收编了前土匪的民团利用明清时期的城防欺负当时的解放军没有攻坚能力一直到47年才跑路
作为一名退役军人我很荣幸也很自豪，因为我服役的部队就是在解放战争从东北一路打到海南岛，然后就一直驻扎在海南岛上

To be objective, Chiang was a pretty shitty negotiator, revolutionary, and national leader. His one redeeming characteristic is being strong willed.
IMO he's quite capable to emerge victorious (or at least to be sort of in control) among the cutthroats that were the warlords. Just that being ruthless and transactional aren't enough in turning the tide and lead his regime through the most turbulent times.

He does deserve credit for leading the second northern expedition and the country through WW2 but he was far from being strategically brilliant and was more of a "Stalin" type of military leader. Plus he recruited many of the warlords back into his government such as Yan xishan.

军事失败背后是经济失败。简而言之，国军败于财政枯竭。几波美国援助打光了，后面就越来越拉胯。国民党作为一名义上统治中国的政党，基层管理能力简直惨不忍睹，占中国人口最多的农村，长期被乡绅和地主把持，这帮人会缴税吗？国民党税收的大头是关税和盐税，这两项和被地主截胡的农业税相比就是小巫见大巫。反观中共，党组织深入基层，军队所在地就推行土改，彻底消灭地主阶级，长期被地主截胡的农业税流入中共财政。民国地主一般收取佃农7成赋税，共党打掉了地主，收取4成左右，农民收入翻倍，又获得土地，自然全力支持中共。战场上出现一边倒的局面一点都不意外。小常识，民国农民占总人口至少九成。

听说我有亲戚是国民党，解放战争后逃往台湾了，祖籍湖北（可能是咸宁或者孝感、黄冈一带）黄埔军校毕业的，官职还挺大的，姓熊，也有说被枪毙了，我搜了好几次也搜不到😢
