I admire Jeremy Lin more than any other athlete. He has proven himself time and time again, yet he doesn't get the respect he deserves. It really bothers me how poorly he's been treated all the way since graduating from high school. He never gives up, though, and never loses his faith. He's a remarkable human being.

I give props to Jeremy for getting to where he got to having to face that giant, especially during his days playing for Harvard. If you read up on it, it’s pretty heart breaking what he had to put up with just to play a game he loved. And like biblical heroes of faith like Joseph, David and Daniel who were tested in their younger years, I believe the Lord has bigger plans for Jeremy in the future even if it’s not playing basketball. This really Angers me because this brother definitely has the skillz and talent, too be a HALL OF FAMER, one day!!! Lin was the consensus High School Player of the Year in my state (California) his senior year and what does he get for his reward? His No. 1 college of choice outright DENYING him a basketball scholarship just because of his Asian background (Stanford), having to enroll at Harvard as a mere walk-on, EVERY NBA team passing him up in both rounds of the 2010 Draft after he basically put his Harvard team on the NCAA map for good during his tenure there, Knicks management pretty much cutting him loose after he literally willed a lottery-bound Knicks team into the playoffs (LINSANITY!!!), Rockets immediately dismissing him after getting another ball-dominant guard in James Harden when they already handed Lin a lucrative contract to lead their team, and the Lakers crucifying him due to coach Byron Scott being instructed by ownership to "protect" Kobe Bryant's legacy after what should've been a career-ending Achilles injury that was sustained two seasons prior. It was nothing short of divine intervention that Lin finally got to taste a well-earned championship with the 2019 Raptors because the way he was treated up until that moment ended up putting a permanent stain on the NBA and pro sports in general.

The video mentioned it, and so has everyone in here...but was a single example ever presented of his asianness keeping him from NBA employment?
No, and to be honest, I doubt there is any evidence beyond this conjecture. More than anything, he became a victim of his own success. You put up Jordan-like numbers for 3 weeks in New York and people are gonna come to expect that. Unfair, as nobody should ever expect Jordan from anybody but Jordan.
Nonetheless, it wasn’t crazy that those signing the checks were suspicious of potential longevity. I believe Houston paid him fairly well, probably losing on the investment...
Because at the end of the day, it’s about health. And it ain’t because NBA don’t like chinamen. Each time he seemed about to cross the threshold into permanent presence, he’d get hurt. It’s how his amazing early run ended, after all. It’s not like it’s his fault or that I’m dogging him for it. But the ability that earns the most $$$ in sports is durability. Look at LeDbag. He walks at a seniors’ pace for a third of the game, but it ain’t ‘cause he’s slow...give him the ball and he’s right back to high-speed freight train. He’s not lazy the rest of the time, he’s preserving himself for longevity.
Lin played very fast, and very hard. Guys that play hard all the time get hurt. Happens to sooooo many athletes, from all sports. We just never hear about them, because they don’t have “Linsanity”-type results under their belts yet...Oh, Linsanity, which was indeed one of the most fun times ever I spent, a poor, decrepit, wretchedly pathetic Knicks fan. I’ll always be grateful I got to see most of it (missed the first two games but caught the rest once I heard about it!).

Smart and steady, a great inspiration to those that play the game as a team player not a superstar. Team players make everyone play better to win not to grandstand! Basketball is a team sport not a individual sport. Funny how so many forget that and wonder why they lost!

There’s nothing tragic about Jeremy Lin with regard to basketball. The dude got to play in the NBA for multiple seasons, made a lot of money, and is an all around smart guy (econ degree from Harvard). 99.9 percent of human beings will never come close to his accomplishments…

You're missing the point. The fact that he accomplish this is one thing and were it to be a different person of the preferred type they would've had a signed multi-year contract. He couldn't get this despite all his achievements because of him being Asian.

      Graduated from Harvard.
      Made the league.
      Out-dueled Kobe with the Knicks.
      Became a thing.
      Won a ring.
Shut K-Mart up with his reply to Martin's Twitter remarks on cultural appropriation.
Still in good health and mental state.

I haven't followed JLin's every move to death over the years, because I don't follow basketball/NBA, but I've followed Andrew Yang to death, day in & day out, during his presidential and NYC mayoral runs in 2020-22 or so. And he suffered from so much racism, discrimination, stereotyping, hatred, degrading, severely under-appreciating so much, it was unbelievable. I already knew that from my daily life as an Asian. Everything I suffer through, they do too, though they're famous for Asian Americans, and on a much higher level. Asians tend to think of all groups as good and right, and elevate all groups, while only getting the most horrific treatment in return, the lowest of all groups. Where's the fairness in that? I have a very Yang/Lin personality, very kind, giving, nonjudgmental, loving, generous-minded, and open-hearted, just to get the most terrible, unbelievable treatment back from people, my whole life.

I believe he was always short change and overlooked by the NBA. It was sad to see how he was treated. He should be given a chance to come back and treated fairly. The Knicks should pick him up as a six man and end his career with them.

What about Yao Ming? Racism is mild in US, especially for Asians.. As an Asian who is also a minority in my own country, there are many ways to fight it in US. Lin & his parents probably dont know how to deal w it well enough, I would not hv played for Harvard, nor send my tape to Ivy league univ..
