even as a Wings fan, Forsberg wasn't "dirty." He was tough, strong as shit on the puck, and played a brand of hockey that shortened his career.
Forsberg was awesome.
So what? We praise Scott Stevens for being the best hitter ever while destroying multiple greats careers and talk shit on Peter Forsberg for giving people scars? 2 differences. Forsberg was one of the most gifted hockey players ever when it came to toughness and skill and Stevens was a great defender that aimed to injure people. Why is Forsberg being bashed and I see zero vidoes on Cherry bashing Stevens. Its Canadian bandwagoning and all you guys are on the wagon.

Forsberg was a bit dirty, especially agianst Detroit...! But that's how that rivalry was! Mean and dirty! He actually was "too dirty for his skills". He is, in my opinion, by far the best Swede and Eurpean ever and the third best ever behind Gretzky and Lemieux (he was probably better than Gretzky(as a complete player) but you have to respect the time difference and the points Gretzky put up!!!. He was dominant almost every shift and he put up amazing numbers on a second line and he showed up in the play offs and every time for Sweden in the Olympics, World Cup and World Championships!
Feels like don cherry is a bit butt hurt that he never reached the same level as a European player. Forsberg is the goat

Forsberg was one of the best play making and clutch tough as nails power forward in the game.. yeah some of his checks were a bit uncalled for but check tape... he brought it all every game... HOF!!.

A bang bang play?! When Suter took the lumber to Kariya's jaw, it was a good second after Suter had just seen the puck go into the back of the net, and might as well have been before the game. A late hit during an intense game is one thing, trying to take off someone's head because they just made you look like you were standing around picking your nose is quite another.
I love cheery but forsberg is a guy who changed hockey like gtretzgy. He was one of the best. He was like the first cam Neely don eat that buddy.

Don Cherry was Skip Bayless before anybody heard of a "hot take". He just said stuff to cause controversy, not because he actually felt a certain way about someone.
Cherry thought fighters were important to protect the stars. Forsberg took care of himself. It shortened his career. It was brilliant seeing a superstar dishing out and taking abuse without making noise about it. Forsberg big man, Cherry very small man.
