- If you haven’t seen my previous video on milking my sweet Jersey cow please check it out! Once the milk is collected I separate the cream and end up with around 1% milk in one jar and heavy cream in the other. ❤️🐮🥛
I typically do this over the sink (placing the bottles in the sink) so there is no mess! However for the purpose of this video I brought it out to where it was more visible. 😌

Very interesting video Amber! I recall cream separators that had a 'hand crank' on our dairy farm many years ago - same principal as your though. I think the farmers, like my Dad, would take some milk from the production to run through this process to make butter and cream for the family and the rest of the milk went to the dairy in stainless steel cans. Jerseys always have great, rich milk!!

So I also started to watch Heartland (up to series 10 right now) loving it too. I hope my daughter stays in Canada two of her close friends have just gone over to British Columbia. She plans to visit maybe at Christmas . I hope she stays in Canada then I can maybe in a while go over and visit her.Oh yes noticed your dog on the bread video. Are you able to put all components in the dishwasher? (Besides the motor of course) Or do you clean and sterilize by hand? How long does it take you to make it ready for the next milk/cream separation?

When you’re milking a cow how do you know how much to milk and how do you know it when after your milk if it’s still enough for the cafs to drink

So shot in the dark here. My wife and I are actually considering doing something similar to this. Do you have information on the where you got the separator and the milker system you setup. We love the idea of it.
Looks like she uses the Milky Day brand of cream separator. look up cream separators on internet . if tou live in a ruaral area check out the farm suppy sores around several od ours carry various brands both electrix and hand crank.

I never saw one of those ...what's the name of that? we would always boil the milk and then we would use a skimmer to sort of 'fish' the fat that came to the top out
