    WTF? is this a re-badged Hero 7 video? Very misleading header. Appreciate the detailed settings for nightlapse but the Hero 8 is a different beast when it comes menu settings and setup. There is a ready made 'preset' for nightlapse on the 8 (which you could tweak if needed). Would suggest changing the video title to better describe the content. Impressive clips though.

      Ceyda - Damn, you'd think after 6 months, somebody would have answered your question. If I knew the answer I'd help you out. In my videos(I'm a beginning in this stuff) I see streaks across the sky that look like shooting stars. They must be airplanes, though, because a shooting star only last a couple of seconds and the exposure is for 20 seconds, so the event only last may 1/8th or so of the frame. So, are shooting stars so fast that they cannot be seen in this type of video? Are those streaks I'm seeing airplanes? Hope someone can answer me....

    Why on their website does it say the 7 Black doesn’t have night lapse when I see videos like this on it? Im confused. Im not very tech savvy, this will really be my first camera, Im a mermaid, I plan to do some pool swims at night and my tail will be glow in the dark (ill be painting one with Lit pigment) and I just want to capture the nighttime magic, low light, glow in the dark light, moon & starlight.... do I need the 8? Or can I get by with the 7 black? I’d prefer whatever is more simple for me as a beginner to learn and to save more so I’m still leaning towards the 7 black bc friends recommend it.... but we may have different uses/needs. This helped me make a short video of the perseids meteor shower and it came out fairly well. The only thing here being the key word. Short. I had the camera going for about 3 hours which gave me about 9 seconds of video. I'm not a photographer by any means so I didn't realise that having such a long exposure time would equate to a much shorter video, it probably could be made a little clearer for the idiots like me what sort of effect exposure times have on your shooting for things like this. Otherwise it's a pretty foolproof guide and I look forward to capturing some more nightlapses with my GoPro, it's a fantastic bit of kit.

    • @thehikers7291
      @thehikers7291 Před 3 lety

      Becouse you get 1 frame every 60secs,but once you play the video its 30 frames per second. So, what you film for 30 minutes (30 frames you get) it is played in a second. You can put the interval on 30 seconds, so you get double the lenght. Keep in mind that if you are using shutter speed 30 secs, interval cant go lower than 30 shutter speed

      You should remove the battery and connect the camera directly to a power source. Removing the battery prevents the camera from overheating; Hero6 and above let you film while the camera is plugged in
