Most don't know that he actually had a hand in production on this song too.. that bass line is taken from "Uptown Anthem" by Naughty by Nature, Pac played those notes on the keys at CanAm studios in LA when recording this song. If you watch that video, Pac is in that video too. It was a nod to the real NY rappers who he respected.. a whole other level of subliminal dissing toward those who he mentions in the song, most don't know Pac was just starting to get into production too outside of just rapping. Bro was really GOATed at the age of 25.
I had to take street fame down yall CZcams was bein finicky about a clip I added but I appreciate everybody who still watched it before it went down 🫶🏽
It's hard to explain the moment this album was. He had just died and then a surprise album drops with Pac using the name Makaveli which is a nod to a real life philosopher Nicolo Machiavelli who talked about faking his own death to seek revenge on his enemies.
@@MDLAMedallion That's where the theory that Pac was alive came from. Folks forever thought he was going to pop up alive 7 days after his album dropped.
If you owned the CD of this album you can validate the first few seconds of song pac whispers “suge shot me” that was the hip hop version of “marilyn manson took his ribs out” rumor in school. You definitely hear it though!
To me this was kind of both troose offering, without backing down on the words he had already spoken, and a warning. “We ain’t even come to hurt nobody tonight, but it’s my life or yo’ life- and imma bomb first”. And.. “Pleace reconsider ‘for you die. 🤷🏻♀️
Hlla people don't even know. This wa the 1st rap album post mixed on ProTools. Death Row and Pac set the standards way back in the 90s. There were no Samples in this album either.
Before you release a album the powers that be and all the industry and rappers he dissed already heard it because they have to hear it before it comes out they had to take him out because it was to much and he was saying they names in songs calling people out and he talked about the industry too way back then they had to get him out the game and after that the game over time started changing and got watered down before then even the gangster rap had messages in it and it was raw
Wasn't a fan of this track, and probably 65-75% of this album when it first dropped. Feel like some of his later "unreleased" stuff was way better on double album R U Still Down. The track selection on Makaveli was heavily centered around the beef aspect at the time, and that was the selling point unfortunately.
this was way harder, and of course hit em up was the hardest. This Bomb First track was menacing on multiple levels. Work out song, make ya wanna slap somebody
