Omg. Where did you find this video. I was the young man in the video as a student with Eleanor. I have been trying find it for so long to. Thanks for bringing this wonderful memory back.
I am so pleased for you that you discovered this. I just discovered her when I accidentally heard her sing "My Hero" from a "Voice of Firestone" program. I was overwhelmed by her magnificent voice. You are fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with her.
I've admired her voice for many years, since someone gifted me with an LP of Madama Butterfly. I still listen to this opera, except now I have it on a CD, to save the LP.
She was a fine singer, especially excellent in Mozart. Never heard a better “Come Scoglio”! But it’d going too far to say she was “one of the great divas of operatic history.” She gave only a few performances abroad.

I recorded these videos off the air, and they've been sitting on a shelf every since. With some time on my hands due to covid, I've been digitizing.

You were fortunate to have such a devoted, talented teacher. I hope you had a successful career.
So great. Any stories to share? Met her once. She was a bit terse but I was a stanger. She seemed strictly business
No nonsense.
I'm so glad you posted this . I thought she was forgotten . But alas,we have this..❤
Such a voice. I was honored just to be in the same room as she taught. Amazing.
У неё был чрезвычайно мощный и красивый голос - великолепная была певица - одна из нескольких лучших за всю звукозаписываемую историю оперы!
What an incredible voice
Che donna,...e che artista!!!!!
I wish someone would find and post her (yes, it's true!) recital at the Continental Baths. And you thought Bette Midler was the only one.

If I tell you, dear Eleanor, of my appreciation of your training and inspiring teaching.
Eleanor was THE BEST.
Great singers don't always make great teachers

Only once in Bayreuth and that's a pity, her Elsa sounds wonderfully exquisite.
