  • The 1.21 update gave us copper bulbs which are so comically op they invalidate pretty much all the current storage technology. In this video I show you how to use them to make a storage system that has slots for 5400 different items. It has no gaps between columns or rows so you get one double chest each block of surface. Such density has only really been done at much smaller and with much more complexity and lag in the past. You can replace the cobweb with powder snow making the items move between slices way faster.
    My previous attempt at a multi item sorter which looks like a joke compared to this now even though it was cutting edge at the time:

    What is your preferred size for such multi item sorters? For me 10x10 is just really nice to look at.

      To me it seems it would be very difficult to remember which chests belong to which items with the 10 by 10, especially with the chests near the center. I think 5 by 20 would be better in practice, as it's easier to reach and there are more opportunities to place indicator blocks along the perimeter.

      Very true also just having like a huge wall of chests there’s just something so satisfying about having so many items at your fingertips right there infront of you and this build is truely revolutionary fr!

      I usually do 6 high chests.
      I put two stairs in front of them going down, with the bottom chest at ground level at bottom stair.
      Then to acces the very top chest you can just step back up a little to get to them.

    When the clock stops, there will still be items cycling through the system. These will stay in the hoppers and droppers until the next batch of items is inputted. Having items left in the unlocked hopper behind the chest is annoying when one tries to take out items of the chest, as they will go into the chest the moment there is a free slot. Additionally, because of the long delay from the cobweb, around 29 items will be left in each dropper. This is a big problem because there are only 14 slots between the dropper and hopper, so if a bunch of single items are input, some of them can despawn after the system turns off.

    • @AdamSchadow
      @AdamSchadow  Před 12 dny +1

      There are two options first you can use powder snow instead of cobweb or even better have a system that adds delay the clock turning off so all the items pass through the storage.

    Could you use powdered snow instead of the cobweb? I believe that also cancels the horizontal velocity of items and is not so slow as the cobweb.
    Awesome design, well done! Thanks for sharing!

    Really cool. It looks though like the items ejected by the droppers are just going back into the top of the same slice. I see the hoppers under the barrels pointing to the left, but isn't the item going to prioritise going down to the hopper beneath?

    • @AdamSchadow
      @AdamSchadow  Před 24 dny

      No its not since its the same trick that makes them first push the itens into the chests.

    Kinda expensive but it is indeed pretty compact. It would have been nice if it came before whitelister based item sorters. Now, these sorters are dead. They’re not really nice to interact with

    • @AdamSchadow
      @AdamSchadow  Před 23 dny

      I think you mean non slot reserving MIS which are nice but in my opinion pointless since once you invest the effort to build them you might as well build a normal single item sorter based storage.

    • @PotatoCraft_TMC
      @PotatoCraft_TMC Před 23 dny

      @@AdamSchadow whitelister based / non slot reserving / true MIS. To me, they’re all equally valid terms. But how is single item sorting better? I don’t like it unless it’s for bulk. Im a pro multi item sorting dude. Once you add a hybrid interface with accessible box loader to a mis, you have everything. For real, that shit is fucking goated. If it could be 1wt, I think I could convince everyone to use one. I think it’s stuck at 2wt tho.

    Nice build, but your in-game camera movements are very jerky, and too fast. I'm not complaining, but just giving constructive criticism for improvement.
