  • Nowadays, people gravitate toward semi-autos and the market reflects this demand. However, there is just something intimidating about revolvers. Sure, getting shot by a plastic gun still hurts, but nothing sends chills down your spine than being on the wrong end of the big iron itself. Not to mention, revolvers are just more reliable than semi-autos, and in defensive applications, you do not want any surprises. With this in mind, we have here a list of amazing revolvers for home defense that you should consider getting.

All the Kimber revolvers I've handled had a terrible trigger! I'll stick with S&W, Ruger, and Colt! Taurus usually are an honorable mention. I prefer a Ruger LCRx pistol for Concealed Carry for the size , weigt, and shoot ability 😊

I'll stick with my 1962 born S & W Model 10-6 with nickel finish. I've had it since the 70's. It was my aircrew weapon.

Hello Paul Martin. It caught my attention too. The gun in the lead in picture is a gun customized by my shop. It was featured in January 2016 issue of Shooting Illustrated magazine , authored by Duane Daiker. The picture is being used without my permission. No big deal, lot's of people on the internet use things without permission. It is a custom Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan in .44 magnum customized by Gemini Customs LLC. Hope this answers your question.

there's no reason to handicap yourself with a revolver, but if you DO, get a 9MM revolver, cause the .38 SAAMI spec pressures require ammo makers to "wussy-load" the .38 ammo so badly. The Liberty Arms 50 gr, 2000 fps ., (2" of rifling) solid copper hp, 450 ft lbs, no more recoil than a makarov, is what you want. . Animal tests prove that it's more effective than a 357 snubby with jhps and your repeat shots can easily be twice as fast with this 9mm ammo as with the ferrocially-recoiling 357 snub.
