    Hello Friendly Mr. Can this repeater be used to extend an existing 5.8ghz ac access point as a 2.4ghz access point so 2.4ghz wifi devices can also have access to the original extended 5.8ghz network ?

    Friend, I hired Starlink for use on the farm, but the router doesn't have the range I need. I then bought the Xiaomi AX6000 to use as a (quality) repeater. The Starlink modem reaches 30 meters from Xiaomi. The Starlink modem will serve one area and the Xiaomi will serve another. I ask: IS IT POSSIBLE TO CONNECT THE XIAOMI VIA WI-FI? How to make? Sorry for my poor English, I'm using Google Translate. Thanks.

    Hi, does it really need to be placed near our WiFi router? Please enlighten me because I'm somehow confused. My case is that our WiFi router is located on the first floor, and I want to extend the range of our WiFi to my room on the second floor because, apparently, I'm having a connection problem on the second floor when I play mobile games, unlike when I play on the first floor near the WiFi router.
    My initial thought is to place this repeater on the second floor since that is where we have the weakest connection at home. Or will placing it near our WiFi router, as how it is instructed to be used, on the first floor still do its job and solve my connection issue on the 2nd floor? Thank you in advance for noticing.

    • @phuketexplorer
      @phuketexplorer Před 2 lety

      I have exactly the the same issue. If I connect it with the router set to 2.4G, it connects, creates its own network and works flawlessly. If I then delete it (+reset the AC1200) and start again - with the router set to 5G - it cannot connect to the network and just sends me in endless loops searching for it. I've now spent 2 days trying everything! One attempt actually worked, but when the AC1200 was disconnected from the power - or the router moved out of range - it refused to reconnect again when everything was sat next to each other and re-powered. I've given up with it!

    May I ask what the differences between wifi range extenders and mesh devices are? and which is more convenient? I am using the Xiaomi AX3600 router

    • @DSmartLife
      @DSmartLife  Před 2 lety +3

      WiFi Mesh network will have a single mesh router as the main host. It will control all the network parameters, routing and device switching, handling. The child nodes will just follow the instructions of the host. An extender is independent of the main WiFi router, it just re broadcasts the WiFi signal to extend the range. The receiver device woll handle the switching between the networks (main and extended) in this case, and it's not ideal. Mesh is more convenient but may cost more. Repeaters are an economical solution, especially when your connecting devices are mostly stationary. Thanks.
