  • One of my favorite backs to hate. As a Titans fan I had to watch this man tear my team up year after year. But any fan had to love watching Arian play. His cut backs and dead legs are a thing of beauty. Foster's story is amazing and I loved following his career. I'm glad he's been out of the afc south for a few years and hopefully the Texans never get another runner like him any time soon! Hopefully some people enjoy this video and thanks for watching!

    • @daleoswaldodangerfield85
      @daleoswaldodangerfield85 Před rokem +3

      He lacked top end speed. But that lets you know that speed isn’t everything because that was the last thing he needed. & speed has no benefits if you don’t have the vision, the patience, the elusiveness or the instincts required to be a great running back. You have to have the patience to allow the blocking scheme to develop which gives you alleys to explode through & to bounce it outside if need be. If you don’t know when to cut & to be decisive when you do, there will be no long runs to even use your speed. Because you aren’t getting out of the backfield. This guy ran a 4.68 40 yard dash. So basically a 4.7. That’s inside linebacker Defensive End speed. But was always busting long ass runs, breaking ankles, hurdling guys & breaking tackles. & he was quicker than most backs. That’s more important than flat out straight line speed also. Running backs have to stop, start, cut, spin, duck, jump, dodge etc. Everything other than being able to run fast in a straight line. Arian Foster is 1 of my favorite RB’s thst no one mentions. But he was particularly good. A unique rare talent at running back. He had physical gifts that most players wish they had. I don’t understand how he could go undrafted just from the eye test. Fuck the 40 yard dash. The question is does he run to daylight??? & I’ll say Absolutely!!!

    I remember training with one of his former strength and conditioning coaches from the university of Tennessee. He had nothing but negative things to say about his work ethic.
    I always looked at him differently though. The man showed up and showed out when his number was called. That’s really all you can ask of a pro, to show up and be ready to go and be consistently good at your assignment.

    Arian Foster might be my all time favorite player. After just one preseason game before his rookie year I went right to my fantasy team and picked him up; he hadn't been drafted at all.
    The play at the 12:00 mark of the video, against The Bengals, may be my favorite. First, he stiff-arms #42 to throw off his balance. #42 tries to turn around since he's facing the wrong way now. But, Foster intuitively grabs the back of #42's shoulder and completely prevents him from getting turned around for a tackle. Foster then stops pushing and pulls himself forward, by the jersey of #42, to regain speed.

    Ariana foster was a bad man. I watched every game and he killed it and was a nightmare for other teams. GO TEXANS

    I remember when Houston was once a top rated team. Finishing our best season with foster 12-4 then loosing the playoffs to Tom Brady

      Personally think the 2011 team was better. Unfortunately they had to finish the season with a 3rd string QB.

      Fr man. But imagine if we brought Deshaun Watson back into that time. This team would probably have a superbowl with Foster, Hopkins, Andre Johnson, and Owen Daniels

    6:20 insane sequence here. He totally abuses two Jets defenders including a prime Revis.

  • @trigger455
    @trigger455 Před rokem +1

    All I see is standard RB speed and hands plus huge holes my grandpa could run through. That O-line was outstanding. One could argue Foster's success was similar to Emmett Smith. O-line made them famous. Barry Sanders never had a good O-line

    • @diazaa
      @diazaa Před rokem +1

      One could argue Smith and Sanders were 1st round picks and Foster was undrafted. Also the Texans have NEVER had an all star Oline, while they were good they were not the #1olines. Foster was known for his vision, Sanders for evasivness, Smith for balance.

    People never really think about Foster. He put up huge numbers, the only problem is his prime happened to be during Adrian Peterson's prime.
