I wish we could celebrate same sex love not sex … I’ve been to 3 prides and even though there are booths for awareness and mental health and local businesses there are tons and tons and tons of sex booths and no dress code…

I’m 68 years old and I’ve never understood why a month (for Pride - of any kind: race, sexuality, respect, you name it) needs to be celebrated and people educated for, theoretically, for such a short time. Shouldn’t Pride be everyday for everyone? Personally, I’ve never needed anyone, outside of my parents, to instill pride in who I am and to appreciate other people - be they any color or sexual preference. I do, however, understand the need and opportunity to educate the world on our differences - and what makes us all the same.
A full month allows for a wide range of activities, including parades, festivals, educational workshops, film festival screenings, panel discussions, and community gatherings. This variety helps cater to different interests and aspects of the LGBTQ+ experience. It provides time to highlight and celebrate the diverse identities within the LGBTQ+ community, Including lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and other identities. A month-long celebration helps to raise awareness about the issues faced by the LGBTQ+ community, such as discrimination, violence, and legal challenges. It provides ample time for educational programs, workshops, and events that inform the public about LGBTQ+ history, culture, and rights. Extending the celebration over a month fosters a sense of community, solidarity, and support among LGBTQ+ individuals and allies. Prolonged visibility helps challenge stereotypes, reduce stigma, and promote acceptance and understanding within the broader society.
Organizing large-scale events like parades, festivals, and conferences requires significant time and coordination. A month allows organizers to schedule these events without overlapping, ensuring maximum participation. Since Pride is celebrated worldwide, a month allows different regions and cities to host their events at various times, accommodating local schedules and climates. A full month allows for the celebration of LGBTQ+ art, music, literature, and culture, showcasing contributions from the community to the broader cultural landscape. It provides the opportunity to explore and celebrate the intersection of LGBTQ+ identities with other aspects of identity, such as race, gender, and religion. A month provides a sustained period for advocacy efforts, including campaigns for legal reforms and policy changes. It allows for ongoing engagement with policymakers, businesses, and the general public to promote equality and inclusion.

68 years old and still don't know anything. Usually when a minority group is treated with hatred, violence and told they are evil and should be ashamed.
Said group has to fight against all that to be equal to the oppressor party and show pride and not be ashamed of who they are since shame is what the oppressors want them to feel. I don't understand why people like you don't direct any of that energy to the homophobic and hateful people who caused all this drama in the first place.

I am so proud and grateful for all those souls back in 1969 who fought with all their might for my rights and the rights of all in the LGBTQ community. It was a well fought fight against bigotry.

I just want to say that in little clips like this we rightfully revere moments like Stonewall - what Joy described as a "riot" and a confrontation with police - but there are those who are quick to denounce heated protests today. It's time to take that retrospect and actually apply it to contemporary events.

The first 80 seconds are about gay and lesbian pride. Most of the recent bills are about TQ, not LGB. Gay pride parades were never about eliminating the women's category in athletic competitions or medicalizing gender nonconforming children.

Why are the black and brown colors on the flag?

The Progress Pride Flag places the black and brown stripes, along with the light blue, pink, and white stripes, in a chevron (arrow) shape on the left side of the flag. Symbolism

Because we needed a new one with uglier colours. FYI, I'm all for the old one (5 and 7 horizontal colours).
For me personaly it always stood for everyone. Since light breaks into these colours but is all 'contained' in that colorless light. (breaks it the wrong color, but cannot remember the correct word for the phenomenon of light through a prism).

Brian, imagine you were born in a society with romantic feelings and sexual urges that you had to keep secret, and there were other consensual adults who had the same instincts but you couldn’t just walk up to each other in fear of harassment or assault, you couldn’t just ask someone out to a prom at school, and develop socially like everyone else… in fear of a beating or worse. That is the sad sorrowful world you live in, where you get lunatics who believe in their fantastical ‘sky god’ tell you a 2000 year book can save you if you suppress your true nature. My brother served our country for almost two decades in the military but he couldn’t be honest to his fellow officers about his true identity. Children are bullied, adults are harassed - and trolls like you (who do know better) don’t have an ounce of compassion as they mock gay people. THAT is why we need and will always fight ⚔️ for pride.

November is National Veteran and Military Families month. People just don't bother to find out about it.
