I was confused for a moment thinking you were commenting on the James Taylor garden concert I put on last August. You may be interested to watch us perform 15 if the all time JT favourites. If you do, here’s the link:

Same here! We will be celebrating our wedding anniversary. But it's on August first. Did they have any opening band? The show is today in LA.

It WAS a great concert! I especially enjoyed the power and intimacy of his guitar and voice. I felt a bit sorry for Jackson Brown serving as the warmup act. There was day when he too had been a headliner. I'm pretty sure JT first performed in Vancouver on Oct. 16, 1970 when he came as Joni Mitchell's new boyfriend for the fundraiser concert that launched Greenpeace. I love listening to Amchitka, the two CD album of the concert. They sound so young. Joni's voice is breath-taking, washing over the audience and often soaring to the rafters. James was so new on the scene the audience barely recognized Fire & Rain!

    James’ voice sounds very different!

Old age gets everyone eventually. But also, my microphone was on my phone - not coming from the mixing desk - so it would sound very different and much better if professionally recorded direct off the microphones.

He sounds terrific by himself, but the band is a little funny sounding. Maybe it's the acoustics.

You’re quite right. It’s the acoustics of the building that make instruments sound echoey and distant.
