My favourite bit of gardening is also sowing and nurturing seedlings, It is so rewarding. Greta vlog- really interesting. Thank you. Happy gardening 🙂
Hi Andy, the weather has been awful, lots of rain but, at least it's warming up. Nice technique on sowing your peas. Crikey, all that water! It's a, shame you couldn't get some bricks to build one layer in the shape of your beds & sit the wood on top, due to the fact you get flooded every Year. What a brilliant idea using the straw fir protecting the brassica stem 👍 nice video update, thanks for sharing and take care 😊
I know you’re used to the plot flooding by now Andy, but it must be very frustrating all the same. Hopefully these high winds will help to dry it out a bit. I’m very behind this year because we’re moving house soon and I didn’t want too many seedlings to look after! Seeing your poly tunnel full of lovely healthy plants keeps me going until I can get my new garden started! The only plants I’ve got ready are a tray of Hilda’s mix sweet peas, which will go into a half-barrel ready for the move! Take care 😊👍
My garden is ankle deep in water ..again..... It dried up enough to mow the grass... then torrential rain for days and another storm... disheartening
The weather has been shocking over there, quite understand Andy dont worry. Thanks for showing how to put the straw on Andy, i knew you used them but my imagination had you threading the roots through….yes i know! Great tip
No wonder you're having problems - I'm a tad north (Cleator Moor) & it's been the wettest start to the year I can remember since 2002.
My tomatoes, peppers & aubergines are sitting in the greenhouse & hardly any bigger than they were three weeks ago.
Got onions & lettuce planted out yesterday but that's it.
Roll on some dry weather...
Shocking weather, only got potatoes in pots in so far
It has been a bad year but i have finally got my spuds in at last
I'm so behind, I can't seem to get anything sown, my garden at home is a bog ! My plot is wet, my new polytunnel is half built and it's been so windy I can't get it finished ! I just hope I can catch up. I really hope your plot drains, must be frustrating for you. Thanks for the update always nice to see your vlogs :)and pick up some tips, I must try peas in gutters thanks
I put my Tom's into the greenhouse through the day and back into the house about 6.30pm same with the cucumbers. When I potted some on a couple of weeks ago, I put 4 in a 4inch pot and left them in the greenhouse under bubble wrap, they are still ok. Like you say watch out for frost. Thanks for the video.
Good to see you Andy, we here in SW Canada are the opposite we need some rain and have barely had any but what we have had is insanely cold nights it even dropped to minus 1c last night (of course I just put out my shallots 🤦🏼♀️). Hopefully it gets better soon and you can get on with things. Hoping everyone is well, Ali 🥶🌦️🇨🇦
Andy, the weather has been terrible here in Lancashire hasn't it? No sign of improvement yet. I'm behind too in planting things out. My fence blew down in January and on Easter Saturday we managed to sort it out. The wind and rain has been terrible again this week.
I hope your plot dries out soon. Happy potting on for now. Your plants look very healthy. Take care.
The weather has been unreal Andy im on sandy loamy soil which dries fairly quickly but the wind and rain hasn't stopped long enough to get things out. Im starting to run out of space now, cabbage leaves are gone big if i put them out in wind i think they'd take off as in helicopter....lol why do we bother
Eyup Andy. I was just having a whinge about the wet weather to the missus. I had a look and the last 18 months have been the wettest on record here and the previous wettest 18 months were 2019 to 2021 so it looks more like wet climate than weather. We'll be growing rice soon. Cheers and I'll sithi after!
