  • When Squarespace (or any website builder's) e-commerce solutions are missing the features you want for particular products, especially for digital products & high-ticket products, hooking it up to ThriveCart to manage the checkout is actually easier than you might think! Let's walk through it together from start to finish so you can see all the options & opportunities to customize the process, whether you use it on Shop products or Sales pages. (This tutorial will focus on the ThriveCart setup, with basic instructions for how to use it with Squarespace specifically, but the website builder can be basically anything that allows embeds or external links.)

      Yay--I'm so glad it helped! Unfortunately, I don't take any e-commerce projects anymore; it's just not the type of work I enjoy or what I have the most expertise in, because it's a whole different business model than service-based businesses. That's actually why I made this video though, to share an out-of-the-box option for DIY-ers. I'm sorry! -- I would say, through my experience using ThriveCart for a digital shop the past few years in my own business, this option works best for small shops that don't intend to sell multiple products at once, per customer. In other words, with ThriveCart it's a single product checkout system, much like integrating Shopify Lite with their embedded 'buy buttons' into Squarespace & bypassing Squarespace's built-in e-commerce. With this ThriveCart system, customers won't be able to add multiple products to their cart & checkout with all of them at once, so it really does work best for items that sell individually, such as software templates, digital downloads, services, coaching, and other higher-ticket "digital-only" products that need more payment options. Though it can work with physical products too, I don't think anyone would be happy with using ThriveCart for a shop selling lots of physical products, over using Squarespace's built-in e-commerce system. Hope that helps clarify a bit further as ya DIY. Good luck! 😁
      You can also check out this video to learn more about their learning/course management system, Learn & Learn+ as an alternative to basic courses in other LMS/CMS systems like Teachable, Thinkific, Podia, and even Squarespace Courses: czcams.com/video/lajwRt7UDzU/video.htmlsi=tPFcnuwUSAHJ7Vfz

    Hello! Stumbled across your very helpful video - thanks! I’m trying to find an easy way to track fulfilment of my physical products thrive thrivecart. I have a subscription that’s growing quickly and need a more streamlined way to keep track of sales then a spreadsheet. What do you use?

    • @launchthedamnthing
      @launchthedamnthing  Před 7 měsíci

      Hi Susanna! That's a great question. Of course I don't know what your set up or account settings look like, but ThriveCart has fantastic sales reporting analytics, so if it's strictly sales information you want to see then I'd make a habit of logging into ThriveCart regularly and checking those numbers. The main dashboard when you log in can show or even compare sales between two sets of dates, and your Transactions panel can show & export data to a CSV file for all transactions or just subscriptions to see your recurring payments.
      If that's not the data you mean, then ThriveCart works well with Zapier to zap information to another platform, so I'd try that next if you're needing to keep up with shipment related details & other things like that. For example, I use Zapier to zap my digital product's sales data into a ClickUp list so I can see that information in ClickUp and create pie charts, bar graphs, etc in a dashboard to see which products are popular, how much I'm earning in a month vs the year, etc. For that template, I used DaSilva Life's template & tutorials which you can read about in her blog post here: www.dasilvalife.com/blog/track-sales-clickup-zapier (not an affiliate, just a happy customer!)
      If you're not a fan of ClickUp, my friend Colie James has an Airtable template that might work well too; I started using her template also to collect information across all my channels (not just ThriveCart) in Airtable so I can answer questions like, on average how long does it take someone to buy from me after joining my email list, etc. I am an affiliate of Colie's shop now, so you can use my affiliate code LTDT to get 10% off most things in her shop excluding pre-sale items. Here's the template of hers that I'm using: coliejames.com/client-hub-airtable
      Hopefully that helps? 😃

    Thanks so much for your videos. I've been binge watching them and trying to choose the most appropriate LMS platform. Btw, I like your screen recording an on-camera transitions. Could you share what you use for that?

      @launchthedamnthing  Před 11 měsíci

      You're welcome! I'm glad they've been helpful! 😁 This video uses Screen Studio for the screen recordings. My other ThriveCart video is probably still using Descript for the screen recordings & edited afterward. Screen Studio makes it much simpler/easier for tutorials like this. • @launchthedamnthing
      @launchthedamnthing  Před 9 měsíci

      You're welcome! Haha--yes, so it's not a "great" option for shops with LOTS of products, obviously. 😂 But it's great for smaller shops that need/want a lot of payment plan flexibility, or funnel setup, or high-ticket products like courses. Each product will need its own checkout in ThriveCart & for courses, ideally each checkout would be connected to a sales page to 'sell' someone on the high-ticket course bc it's not as much of an easy buying decision. 😉

    Thank you for your video! i have a question regarding squarespace plan.. do you have to have business plan or is it fine with personal plan on squarespace and use thrivecart?

    • @launchthedamnthing
      @launchthedamnthing  Před 8 měsíci +1

      You're welcome! I always recommend using a Business Plan to start on Squarespace, unless the website is just for personal use. That's because as a business there inevitably ends up being installation code for Google Analytics, feature plugins, design plugins, css code, email marketing signup form embeds, etc and it's much harder to do that on a Personal Plan in Squarespace because that prevents you from accessing those code areas. You can try using either though, and see what works best for you! 😃

    • @launchthedamnthing
      @launchthedamnthing  Před 4 měsíci

      It can! The course in Squarespace would have to be listed as "free" with a special, hard to guess link for the signup page for it, and that would be the link you share after purchase with buyers through ThriveCart. 😄

      Ah I see! So I’d have to remove the paywall on Squarespace?
      Sorry for the questions I really appreciate your help! How can I edit the link for the sign up page on Squarespace? Would it just be the course page?

    • @launchthedamnthing
      @launchthedamnthing  Před 4 měsíci +1

      You're welcome! Yes, I believe you'd have to remove the paywall in Squarespace & set that up in ThriveCart instead. The paywall inside Squarespace only allows payments to be processed in their connected systems (Squarespace Payments, Stripe, PayPal, etc) so if you want to take payment through ThriveCart instead, you'll need students to check out through ThriveCart & THEN get access to the course page link where they can create their account for the "free" course on your Squarespace website.
      I *think* Rache talks about the course setup in detail in this video here czcams.com/video/D7dGEd27ufY/video.htmlsi=6ZOBSEUCyqpIWwqX but not specifically about how to use ThriveCart alongside it. Just follow the directions there for creating a "free" course, then grab the signup page link and put that in ThriveCart's Fulfillment section so the link will only be accessible for those who purchase.@@Megan_Jennifer

    do the embed videos on the courses look okay from a mobile perspective? I've bought a course from someone else in the past in TC and i felt the video lessons were a little weird to press play or fast forward.

    • @launchthedamnthing
      @launchthedamnthing  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Good question! That totally depends on their video host, since ThriveCart doesn't host videos. Vimeo is what I use primarily & they look fine when I've tested it. Loom videos often work well responsively too, but aren't used as often because we can't "turn off" sharing, so they're not great for paid offers. An embedded Descript video or CZcams video that's not been coded to be responsive will display at a fixed pixel size which doesn't change based on the screen size it's viewed on and potentially half the video will be offscreen; something like that may be what's happening in those course videos. All embeds can be responsive, but not all embeds come with responsive code when they give you the embed code to copy. 😊

    Does thrive cart also offer an option for a credit based membership where a monthly paying customer can purchase credits to buy whichever digital products they want to use their credits on each month with the possibility of buying extra credits if they need them, kind of like audible but not with audiobooks? Thank you!

    • @launchthedamnthing
      @launchthedamnthing  Před 9 měsíci

      No, ThriveCart doesn't have any sort of built-in membership features at all. It has learning management features for courses & students, but no memberships -yet. It does connect to Zapier for integrations with platforms like Circle though which are membership platforms, but to my knowledge those Zaps are more member management related (such as send this email for new members, etc). As for the credits, that's a very specific type of feature and I'm honestly not sure where you might find that. I have to assume the "big" commerce-forcused companies like Shopify and WooCommerce or BigCommerce for WordPress have access to a plugin for that type of thing, but don't know for sure. Hope that helps! 🙂

    OMG I Needed This So Much, thank you, thank you!! Although it looks like this was filmed 4 months ago, I'm so glad this popped up for me to find you, and I hope you can answer my questions. 🙏 Q#1. at timeline 18:08... on the cart page, you didn't select address because you are not shipping the item but if in my business I do a monthly drawing where I would draw the winner to receive a "gift/prize" that I would ship out, or even to more people where I want to send out thank you postcards to each person who purchases, is this where I would get their address by "turning on" the address field, or is there a better way for me to get their address instead of having to ask each person? Q#2. (three questions in one) in this video you showed us how to embed the checkout right on our webpage next to the item they want to purchase... keeping it like that with a checkout at the end of each product, is there a way the customer could continue selecting products they want to "add to cart" and pay for all of them at one time? Another way is... couldn't we just have a purchase "button" next to each product on our website with the embed code attached to that "button" which would take them over to the Thrivecart checkout page once they click on the button? If so, could Thrivecart then have a "continue shopping" button for them to select their next item? Sorry to be long winded, but I'm excited!

    • @launchthedamnthing
      @launchthedamnthing  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Haha! You're welcome! I'm so glad that helped. 😁 Q1) yes, if you need the address the easiest way would be to turn it on for everyone. Q2) No, ThriveCart isn't really meant to be used like Shopify or Squarespace Commerce where they can bundle multiple products into one cart & checkout at one time. For that, I'd use Squarespace's (or your website's) built-in commerce features instead and use ThriveCart only for the types of products where you need more flexibility in payments, delivery, or funnels. Q3) Yes! You sure can! ThriveCart allows you to embed a popup cart which is attached to a button & you can embed that button-triggered-cart anywhere in Squarespace, but the button style doesn't match Squarespace's styles without some added CSS and the popup cart has more limited styling than the embedded or full page cart. I've used all 3 options, but it's just good to know which one does or looks like what. 😃 Q4) There's no continue shopping button since once they leave your website to see the cart, unless it's a popup cart or an embedded cart, they are on ThriveCart's (in the full page cart) platform at that point. You could however add a 'continue shopping' button on the cart page(s), either adding it to the main cart page near the bottom if they decide it's not for them, or on the thank you/success page after they purchase, which could take them back to your shop page. -- Hope that helps!
