How to Access your Digital FMM

- If you're traveling to Mexico, and need access your FMM form for any reason; in this video I will show you exactly how to access your digital FMM form in order to download and print it. Most Mexican International Airports [i.e. Mexico City, Cancun, etc.] no longer utilize the form upon entering or exiting the country; but accessing it can still prove beneficial for individuals in the country; whether that's to open a bank account in Mexico, finish the residency process, or anything in between.

Thank you for this video. You helped me see that I had to create an account in order to submit payment and then generate the fmm. I will be entering by land and then taking a bus once inside Mexico. This saves me time at the inmigration office 😊

Thanks for this informative and helpful video! I am facing a situation where someone in my family does not have a surname in the passport. I have tried various things in the surname section, but it is unable to fetch the information about travel. What is supposed to be entered in the name fields in this case?

Hi @vlog_23 please correct me if I’m wrong but I think you’re asking if someone is traveling internationally to Mexico, do they need both a VISA and an FMM card filled out or just one? I would say (if your home country requires a VISA for entry into Mexico), all you would need is your VISA for entry. Mexico has eliminated the use of the physical FMM form at almost all international airports. If your airport or entry point is an exception to that, no need to worry; an FMM form will be provided if needed. I hope that helps!
Great video. However, I may have missed something. I filled out and completed an FMM (Tourist) card online for my family and I a couple months prior to our upcoming Cancun trip, but have been unable to download it. To clarify, if you're a U.S. citizen visiting Cancun for 4-5 days, are we only required and able to download our FMM cards prior to returning the U.S. or should we be able to download it at any time, such as before we leave the U.S. for Mexico? Thank you.
Nice Job. Your video was the most detailed and thorough of all the ones that I could find online. One question, at the end of your video you state that a person needs to make sure that the FMM says "Canje" and to make sure that the days don't exceed 30 days. Given that it is the digital FMM you will be printing and submitting to INM for residency, at what point is "Canje" added to the electronic copy ? Is that automatically added given what the immigration officer submitted ? Thanks
Thank you for the compliment. It is usually added automatically given what the immigration officer submitted on your behalf; that is why it is important that you let them know what you're there for right away and show them the VISA sticker in your passport. When you go to print your digital FMM, you will see [in the light gray area of the form] if "Canje" is checked and how many day you are granted. I hope that helps.

I think Im in trouble because I didnt get the exit stamp on my FMM form on Saturday, Jan 6 at the Tijuana Airport (Cross Border Xpress). I had the printout on my hand but the immigration officer didnt say anything, just show ID. I didnt even see a booth for FMM forms, not even at the CBX bridge, only for I-94 but that is for US entry.
The consulate couldnt help me. They said I had to do that at the border.
I hope its possible to email them and pay the fine (hopefully its still small).
Hi!! Love all your detailed information ! My question is since the FMM is nonexistent in the Guadalajara airport , if I enter mexico (Guadalajara) with my Mexican passport and exit mexico with my US passport to enter the United States , is there anything you have to do since I won’t be getting my US passport stamped when I enter Mexico?

Hi Tracie! No, that made perfect sense. If you carry both passports on you and do exactly as you mentioned (enter w/ Mexican; exit w/ U.S..) you will have no problem on either end. 😊 It will be smooth sailing. Enjoy your travels!

Hi @tuanly1701 If you are driving across the border, you will generally be given a physical FMM form upon entry at the border; and they will also likely stamp your passport at that point. I hope that helps! Safe travels!

Hi @madisonyoung1571 If you are coming as a tourist and arriving into one of the major international airports, you should have no need for a physical FMM form; nor would you need to print it for any reason or show a stamp in your passport upon departure. Hi!! I am trying to create an account to pay for the FMM as the visit is longer than 7 days. However the nationality drop down on the payment portal doesn’t have Americano or USA as an option so I am unable to move forward with the payment process. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Mine doesn’t say Canje and it says 180 days. How to correct this?
Hi @wtt_is I'm glad you found it helpful. If you are in Mexico to complete your residency process and your FMM does not say Canje or grant you 30 days, you may have to exit and re-enter the country and emphasize to the customs officials upon re-entry that you are here to complete your residency (and show them your residency visa from the Consulate, if you have it).
If that is not an option for you, I would try and drop by your local INM office to see what they can do to assist without exiting & re-entering. I hope that helps! Let us know how it goes for you!

Hi there. Depending on your method of exiting the country, you may not need an FMM form at all anymore. If you don't have the FMM form from your last entry into the country, you can go through the steps of this video to download it just to be on the safe side. But most international airports have eliminated the use of the physical FMM form all together; so you would be able to exit the country as you normally would with your passport, but then just make sure to show your residency card when you return (at the custom's counter, upon entry).

I followed your directions but when going to the account I do not see the FMM form to view it says there is no information available. What is the normal turnaround time for this? I waited 24 hours to see if it takes a day…
What if I'm crossing through the border? Do I need to stop at the border to get it stamped? Also, upon exit do I have to turn it in there as well?
Hi @ivan199120 When you cross the border, all you will need to do is present your passport to be stamped [if you are not a Mexican Citizen] and upon exiting the country at the border, you'll just give them your passport to verify you didn't over-stay your granted days and can legally enter/exit both countries. Some border crossings may still issue physical FMMs. I hope that helps and/or answers your question.

hi @user-jo8vb5nc8b at minute 1:00 you will see a "create account" button on the lower left side of the screen. (It will be the same location if your browser is in Spanish) You can then follow the steps mentioned from minute 1:40-3:04 to create an account and access your dFMM. I hope that helps!

Hi @erikain7 You should have access to your digital FMM form AFTER completing customs upon arrival, here in Mexico. There is no need to fill it out or try to access it ahead of time. The only individuals who may need to access it after arrival into the country are those who are trying to acquire residency here in Mexico. I hope that helps! Safe travels!

i’m a permanent resident of the US and planning on going to cancun, are they still gonna require me to fill this out? or do i just go to the immigration booth for the stamp? can i travel without a tourist visa?
Hi @quimmm As a permanent resident of the U.S., you should not need a tourist visa; nor will you need to fill out an FMM ahead of time if you are entering into Mexico through Cancun, as everything will be handled electronically after your brief visit with the custom's official. Hi @mamadoubalde4966 Are you trying to access your FMM to complete your residency process here in Mexico? If so, just inform INM of the problem when you go in to their office to make your appointment; and they should be able to amend the problem. Otherwise if you are just visiting Mexico for tourism, there won't be a need for it during your stay or before you depart. I hope that helps!
I'm having the same issue where after registering, my upcoming flight out was not listed. I wasn't unable to print a pdf of my MMF. Do we just go to the airport?

Hi Richard! Only previous flights will be listed on the account, not upcoming flights. But if a physical FMM was not needed upon entry into Mexico for you, then it's unlikely that it will be needed for exiting the country. No need to worry!. I hope that helps!

Hi @user-kk4we4oj7s To be on the safe side, yes; I would absolutely recommend accessing and printing your digital FMM that will be generated for you after arrival (depending on your airport of entry), that way you can have it to show upon exiting, if requested, at the border.
It may not be required at the exit point, as they will have access to your entry records associated with your passport. It never hurts to be over-prepared, for either way. You also should not need to pre-fill out or register an FMM before entry by plane. I hope this helps!

Hi @user-kk4we4oj7s even if your eFMM isn’t accessible for one reason or another, your entry is associated with your passport; so it shouldn’t be a problem at INM upon exiting the country whether you do it via air or land, as long as you use the same passport. You’ve probably already exited by now, but I hope that helps! How’d it go for you? Maybe your experience can help someone with similar circumstances.
To confirm, the FMM is registered, signed AFTER one arrives in Mexico? I believed it needed to be done prior to entry, as a requirement by customs to enter.
Hi @tech_bro1421 In the past, with physical FMMs, you needed to fill it out prior to going through customs [upon entry into Mexico]; however the need for FMMs for visitors & tourist have become almost obsolete. Everything will be entered electronically upon entry with no need to ever access your digital/electronic FMM, unless you are acquiring residency here in Mexico. HI there! If you entered Mexico via an airport that didn't give you a physical print out of an FMM and you leave out of that same airport, there is no need to worry; an FMM form will not be required for exiting either. Most all international airports in Mexico have eliminated the use of/need for this form at the moment. I hope that helps! Happy travels!
Hi, so just to get what you said, I entered into Mexico City electronic entry got the receipt and I’m leaving here same airport in 3 weeks mid May. I did try to register and it did not work. So I’m understanding I just need to give that receipt back when I leaving and that’s it. Please say yes 😊

It depends on if you are entering by land or by airplane. If by land (at a border crossing) you can fill out the form up to 30 days before entry. If by air, there is no longer an option on their website to fill it out ahead of time, as most international airports have gotten rid of the need for them. I hope that helps!
@@MixedinMexico Thanks for the information. but now it's too late for me😊. I had faced the worst experience of my life. Because i was coming to Cancun on 3rd March. But at Frankfut Airpot. The Airlines denies my boarding. i don't know why. They said you are suspecious. I asked them that in which thing i am looking suspecious. They were having no valid reason. We also got into argue. But my boarding was cancelled by them. I don't know why this happened only to me😊. All the Planes were washed away by them of my holidays. They were also sooo rude to me. But anyways. Hi @jackyback3975 sometimes their online systems don't always function as they should. When this happens, I always advise my clients to take a visit to their local INM office for a copy of their entry FMM (if it is needed; i.e. for an application of sorts). I hope that helps!

Hi. @creationzby_e2310 You will not need to fill out this form before flying into most airports in Mexico; so no need to fret. It will be automatically generated for you (electronically) after you clear customs in Mexico; if you need to access it for any reason. You should not need this form to enter or leave Mexico anymore though; especially if you’re flying into an international airport here. I hope that helps! 😊

Okay. No need to worry. With the new pilot program here in Mexico, the physical FMM form is not given out upon entry into the Cancun International Airport; nor is it required any longer to leave. What about a driver's license instead of a passport???
I do not believe a driver’s license would work, based on my experience; but it doesn’t hurt to try if you want to be certain.
@@MixedinMexico I was told a driver's license and my birth certificate was all I needed for a fmm? But then again my family in Mexico aren't immigration and they are the final word.
I went through the entire process, and did upload my documents etc., and successfully did everything, but there is no FMM below as in the video.

@@josealejandroexpositogarci7200 This was for a friend as I've already got my temp visa. But we found out that he DID have a digital one when entering Mexico, but they hadn't filed it properly, therefore it was unavailable online. But it should have been.
Just go through w/your passport as usual and have the page on your phone showing that nothing's coming up. That's on them.
That seems like it can be pretty frustrating! I'm sorry you had to experience that. Hopefully they are working on that error and will be able to get that fixed soon, because that was no fault of your own.
