    Rivers can function as railroads, and move 15 supply. Build a port at the river mouth that has a connection over water to other ports that are connected to the capital, and all upstream supply hubs will get 15 supply. Very useful as Brazil, build a port at the mouth of the Amazon river and you can supply all hubs upstream which is a HUGE area. Upgrading the ports does nothing though, 15 supply throughput is the max.

    • @GreenIsTheWayForward
      @GreenIsTheWayForward Před 2 lety +1

      And another thing is transport planes. They are super important now, as it takes 10 days I believe to assimilate captured railway lines and supply depots, but you don't have that much supply and fuel with you. 2 groups of 50 transport planes can easily support one army even in the Amazon or Scandinavia in the days you assimilate the local network.

    The mass Assault land doctrine is now broken bc you can get -20% supply consumption if you add a logistics company is another -10% for each level, plus you can get -15% with the soviet field Marshall. So by 1939 the soviets can get -55% of supply consumption, and the soviet have a guy to lower it another -5%. Mass Assault is now broken. Not being fully supplied gives now big % attack/breakthru negative penalties.

    You can exploit the Siberian Tiger achievement by doing the following:
    Start the game as Tannu Tuva.
    Disband units, do no focuses, and immediately being justifying war goals on the Soviet Union.
    Lose to the Soviet Union.
    Go back into the save file, now in spectator mode, and take over the Soviet Union.
    *Normally, you cannot release nations as the Soviet Union without doing the Autonomous Soviet Republics focus, however you can get around that*
    Immediately begin justifying war goals on Finland.
    Disband all Soviet units, and them switch to War Economy.
    Begin building infrastructure, railways, and supply hubs connecting Tannu Tuva to Eastern Siberia.
    Lose the war to Finland, This will take a while, and make sure you don't call your allies. Mongolia's units will significantly slow this down. Finland takes all states 90% of the time.
    Reload the save, again you'll be in Spectator mode. Now, take over Finland.
    As Finland, release the following nations, in order, as NON-PUPPETS: Vladivostok Indepentant Republic, Far Eastern Republic, Sakha Republic, Taymyria, and Republic of Buryita.
    Release Tannu Tuva, and PLAY AS, not as puppet.
    Rapidly deploy units, get to Service by Requirement ASAP. Walk over these nations while they have 0 troops.
    They will be released as Democracies, so the allies will guarantee them. You don't care about that.
    If you dont take Vladivostok, Khaborvosk, or North Sahkalin, you will not have a port for them to invade you or send lend lease through. This is why you release the Vladivostok republic.
    Do not declare on Vladivostok. They will recieve allied support.
    Also, taking North Sakhalin, Vladivostok, or Khaborvosok may get you a justification war goal from Japan, and again these states have *PORTS* *Do not take these states at all.*
    You do not need to own these nations in a peace deal to form Siberia, just control the capitol of each state. So this achievement is really easy if you just follow this guide.
    If Feedback or anyone tries this, please reply if something goes wrong. I would like to refine this strategy as much as possible before it gets patched.

    One thing that went unmentioned: Rivers can be used for supplies.
    If one supply hub is connected per railway or port to the capital, it can supply any further supply hub along the river - said connection also can't be cut by enemy occupied tiles iirc, meaning you can supply an encircled pocket over river as long as you hold the hubs. Although it is to be noted that supply throughput is rather slim.

Not sure if this is a bug though. I can do a couple heavy tanks and a bunch of horses to go at 6 kph for no fuel cost. I've found that some people are making it harder than it actually is. Spam out Civs at the start like usual. You really don't need to build new railways in most cases, just upgrade the ones you already have *when you need to*. And for that you need: Civs. Some people have been making the mistake of building rails at the beginning instead of building Civs; DONT. Rails come later. Also, you can't just push into enemy territory as fast as you used to. You gotta take your time now, the game has slowed down a lot. Push for a bit then stop to build up the rails and infrastructure, get your supply back, then push again, just like real life.

    I’m playing my first NSB game, as Germany. Vanilla, regular, all expansions. Haven’t played for a year or two. First, I forgot to make the pact and conquered Poland, Low Countries, France and Denmark by end 1939 but the Soviets did nothing.
    Then I screwed up my focuses and couldn’t attack the USSR until July 1940 - May would have been better. But it went ok.
    The only thing is, by winter the equipment losses are incredible. The whole army is grinding its equipment away. I went into the campaign with surpluses of all categories, in the hundreds even thousands, but by December nearly every stockpile is in deficit, some thousands in deficit, particularly support equipment.
    I’ve never seen anything like this before. What’s going on.

    • @TenOrbital
      @TenOrbital Před 2 lety

      Update. So I decided to halt once the snow came, because of the equipment shortages. On a line well short of Leningrad, Moscow and Rostov, but with a bridgehead in the Kuban opposite Kerch. The Soviets drove me back a few tiles here and there over winter. By 1 June 1941, when I renewed the offensive, I had got the army back to almost full equipment but not much in stockpiles. All the planning indicators were red or yellow but I attacked anyway, and over a month or so they all turned green. That's something to remember. Over the summer of '41, the Soviet army pretty much collapsed. I did finally notice they also had severe equipment shortages. By autumn, Leningrad and Moscow were taken, German spearheads were on the outskirts of Stalingrad, and a mountain army concentrated in the Kuban bridgehead took Novorossiysk and pushed down the Caucasus approaching Maikop, the opposition Soviet Caucasus army pretty much disintegrating.
      That's the state of play ~November 1941. Shortages are significant but maybe half what they were the previous summer. The other thing I have noticed is the AI is much better at controlling my armies and frontline than last I played. I am happy to leave nearly all the fighting to it.

    I don't own the dlc but is it possible to make a tank with a huge gun and small base ?

    • @12gark
      @12gark Před 2 lety +1

      Yes, basically it's the concept of a tank destroyer: you research the guns in the artillery line, and the bodies on the armor line, and you can combine powerful guns with light chassis, but you can do that only with fixed turret, that kills you soft attack to ground. So basically you can choose between a real tank (medium or heavy) that can fight both infantry and tanks, or a light Tank destroyer that is useless against infantry but can kill tanks, or a light self propelled gun which can push infantry but has no penetration against tanks.
      Of course you can make AA, SPG and TD also on medium and heavy chassis, and you will have way less limitation in comparison to the light one, with "medium" and "heavy" rotating turrets that can host up to medium and heavy guns respectively.
      It's harder to describe than to understand it in game. Just cheat with XP a research in a test game, and in 10 minutes it will be pretty clear how it works.
      I don't have found any crazy exploit for the moment.
