I loved this series, it was great to see the Yogscast do this, hopefully the allies and Germany have a falling out again so we can have another sequel!
Back here from the latest BTA vid and ended up rewatching this whole series again. Yogscast doing random shut and having many accidents on the way, perfect.

So if this was shot 60 years after 1943, that means this interview was shot in 2003. Simon Lane was 36 in 2014. 1943 at 36 years of age, Simon was born in 1907. So in this interview in 2003, Simon is 96 years old. I'll tell you this, he looks *GREAT* for 96 years old.

It was nice to see Simon more mature in this, you don't see that in the videos yogscast make. He was calm and I think he really proved he's not an idiot. He made jokes and laughed and he did try to emphasise things but overall you saw a different side to him in this.

***** Ah right, I remember him saying at one point in a yoglabs video that "you wouldnt believe I use to study maths", but i've never really looked too much into Simon (although I love the yogscast, i'm not a fact finder xD) so wouldnt know if its his sarcasm or not haha, though physics does seem more his thing!

Simon said that the cameraman shouldn't be flippant about him being there "for years" but later, when he was talking about grenades said that there was a malfunction "on the day".

There was no grenade malfunction. You just forced the pin out when you were supposed to hold down the clip, pull the pin, then continue to hold the clip until you throw the grenade.
It was obviously not a real grenade though. Maybe this one works differently.
One person working on the set said it went off earlier than it was supposed to.
No matter what, the thing went off way to early, the grenade should only initiate when the spoon comes off the grenade. Look at when Lewis threw it. It left his hand and you saw the detonation initiate, then several seconds later it went off.
Don't try and explain things you don't know about.
He pulled the pin, then not even 2 seconds later it went off... no grenade would ever go off that fast.
The fuse on a grenade is between 6 an 10 seconds that went off after 2
This was amazing! Can't belive how well this series was done (Thinking back to 2008) they have come a long way. Great job guys, and can't wait for another amazing live action series like this!

Actually...sorry to disappoint...
WW2 officially ended in 1990.
The reason for that was that there wasn't a government of Germany for anyone to make formal peace with until 1990.
Although actual hostilities came to an end in September 1945, the Cold War got in the way of a formal legal settlement. The Paris Peace Treaties of 1947 wrapped up the wars between the allied powers and their non-German European enemies (Italy, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Finland); in 1952, the Allies (except the USSR) signed the Treaty of San Francisco with Japan, and, in 1955, Austria was restored to sovereignty. Germany, however, remained divided-first between the Western powers and the USSR, then (until 1990) into two sovereign Germanies. So the first celebration of German reunification was on the 3rd October 1990, marking the official end to World War II.
Of course this is a mere quibble - that is, it has no practical effect. But the point was that the entity which declared war (or rather, on which war was declared) in 1939 did not exist in 1945 or at any time thereafter until 1990, so it wasn't able to formally terminate the hostilities. It's not something to get too hung up on though. The USA never formally declared war on Iraq, in either Gulf War. Bombed them to hell and back regardless, though.
