This trial is moving along WAY TOO SLOWLY! A normal murder trial lasts a week, if that. Granted, this is a double murder but it's still going on way too long. It's like everyone's operating in slow-motion.
The judge is way too laid back and he's allowed the audience to bursts of laughter in the most inappropriate times, especially after the housekeeper's family member testified. No one should be finding anything amusing about this.
I wish this judge would put some spring in his step! The taxpayers are footing this bill and it's already cost S. Carolinians a king's ransom.

*2:17:50* His argument that Alex gave consent to have his phone searched is pointless because consent doesn't equate to innocence. Consent/cooperation doesn't equal innocence. There are _many_ guilty people who have willingly handed over their possessions to be searched and were compliant, thinking they would still get away with what they did. Sarah Boone is one of the latest examples who actually encouraged detectives to look at her phone despite having, on her phone, the video of her mocking her boyfriend as he begged to be let out of the suitcase she suffocated him in.

They may have a house in Colleton County but that is not the limit of their influence. None of us were happy with the seeming initial immunity his son Paul got for the manslaughter of a 19 year-old girl on the boat and a DUI underage. If you talk to anyone who lives around here or even watch other CZcams videos on this family, you will learn that there is more than one suspicious death Paul has been "unofficially" accused of. Whether or not Alex Murdaugh is a thief, he has gone through such great lengths to protect his son in the past, and then he kills him? No. That does not make sense to me and the emotions he has displayed in the courtroom and on the audio tapes to me seem genuine. I don't think Alex Murdaugh killed his son or his wife. I think this was private justice from someone in the public, because the girl on the boat who Paul killed never got justice.
