Frodingham Depot (Scunthorpe) on 14th April 1989
Continuing with my archive of video recording between the years of 1986 to 2001 this clip is of Frodingham (Scunthorpe) taken on 14/04/1989. Watch out for the works diesel shunting loco..I hope the video takes you back to this period with fond memories. Feel free to comment, good or bad, all comments are read and greatly appreciated, but it is not always possible to answer each individually. Sit back and enjoy this latest production remembering all those now long gone Locomotive classes and other types of traction. Many thanks for all subscriptions and all of those viewers who have kindly shown an interest in my material. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
This is pure, past railway traction heaven. 👍. It stirs many happy days /memories. Thank you.
You are most welcome and many thanks for watching....Mark
Scunthorpe my home town up to 1968 all those years ago but great for a schoolboy who could see on his door step a busy railway 24/7. On Saturdays, the 9.15 to Doncaster for the day to see the final days of steam mixed with the modern on the ECML. Nothing like seeing an A4 or Deltic not stopping and storming through the centre road from the comfort of the station platform. Not a mobile phone in sight but what photo opportunities were missed back then. Halcyon days all the same.
Can't wait to find the time to sit and watch this.
Superb

I was an apprentice at Scunthorpe from 1986. Gawd it was /is a filthy place to work. I left in 1992.

Mark, your videos refresh my memory, although I think I visited this area a few years earlier. The weathering detail you captured will help my modelling in time. It was an atmospheric place in those days ! Look forward to more posts
You're most welcome....Many thanks for your comment and for watching...best wishes...Mark
Hi there. seems strange going past there now as not so much going on with the depot now a plant depot and the steel works shrunk.
We visited the signalbox in 1991 and despite the March gloom got some good shots.
Many thanks for your comment Duncan and for watching....Mark
