According to Spiritual Science (the finest, strongest, legitimate branch of all knowledge), there is a spiritual spark which is non-material present in the body which is identified as the soul (Atman), the true self: "I" which is beyond the perception of material theories, instruments, etc The soul is the basic of life. Lovely lecture, I really I liked the way Swamiji explained.

The soul, its nature, the consciousness, and our eternality are described in a complete and precise manner, which clears all doubts and reminds us of our relationship with God, allowing us to center our mind in the divine realm.
I liked how Swamiji explained consciousness via so many scriptural evidences as well as logic/rationale. It should be obvious that matter does not have sentience, there is another entity that provides sentience.

This is a very important topic for anyone who is tired of working towards fulfilling material desires and still find no trace of happiness. Swamiji has explained very nicely with an example of automobile engineer wanting to find out the cause of motion of car. Similarly if we trace the energy for all things happening in world, it will lead to God ( sarva kaarana kaaranam, cause of all causes).

Thank you Swami-ji! Could you explain the difference between Jiva and Atma. I understand - atma is is part of God and is eternal. And Jiva is kshara, perishable - every lifetime we get a new jiva. Sati and Parvati are one soul, but different personalities, jivas... Would be great to hear your knowledge on this, what the scriptures say.

1990 I was reading the Urantia Book, when suddenly I heard in my spirit body's mind, the words: "I AM!" and an experience of :knowing everything. This happened in a flash: instantly. So, of course I wanted to understand what this means. I knew, in the Bible: (Exodus:3:11-14) that when Moses asked God for his name: that 'God said "My name is "I AM", . but what did that have to do with me? So, I went to the Edgar Cayce Foundation in Virginia Beach , Virginia (about 50 miles from where I lived, and asked: Do you know anyone who knows what "I AM:" means? and found "The I AM Discourses", so I bought all of them. This became an introduction to New Age religion. By 1998 I threw out all of my new age stuff. Now I know that it means that I am who I am, and that everybody is who they are. Each of our souls are unique. When people don't know about their souls, they might even think their god.

dreams ordinary people like us are just thoughts in sub-conscience...just like we think in day time...does our soul travel with our thoughts ? NO. but dreams of realized people are when soul travels ...because realised people in day time also the same happens...realized people have nullified their subconscious by yogic sadhana..while we have not. so our dreams are just created by junk subconscious throwing this that all sorts of meaningless dreams...but that doesnt mean 100% of ordinary peoples dreams are meaningless...based on their spiritual realization the quality and meaning of dreams also improve...
