    Nice work. That was very well explained.
    Be sure and remove that insulation blocking the soffit. Moisture trapped in there would lead to expensive damage.

      Thank you! Yes, that was a good early spring project before the attic got too hot. Pulled the insulation back and installed baffles in the rafter bays. Much better air flow now

    How well do these hold up to the weather? Concerned about moisture & cold temps

    How many lights can you link together? Is there space on the app to control 10 or more lights? Can you name each light once they are up in the soffit ? Thanks

    • @fixitwithzim
      @fixitwithzim  Před rokem

      I don’t believe there is a limit. Yes, you can name the lights. All in all, I’m pretty happy with them still

    Question: Can you change the colors with out using the app and just by using light switch??? 🤔

      @@fixitwithzim I’m convinced most these lights are out of the same factory, why pay double? These have decent price on them.

    All of these lights appear to be rated for indoor use only, is it against code to install for outdoor use?

    According to the provided link, under the spec section where it states indoor/outdoor indoor is only stated. Not indoor or outdoor……just indoor.

    Unfortunately these are no longer available and to add they didn’t list a IP rating.

    Just say no to that! Why? Exterior soffit recessed lighting over illuminates a house. Now, over garage doors, entrance doors, yes. Funky colors, especially purple, NO! I hate to say it, electricians are good at installing and wiring to code but they can't in most cases design a lighting scheme. The same applies for builders/contractors building a home. Technically can build a house that meets codes but typically the design sucks. These integrated light fixtures don't last forever and usually a lot less than they are marketed. In 5 years times, try finding a matching fixture. If you use a normal outdoor rated unit that uses a real lamp (bulb) that you can easily replace, a much better choice. Most people don't have the knowhow to rewire in a new light fixture but can successfully relamp (replace the bulb) a light fixture.

      Not if they’re on a dimmer my man. Yes lighting is an art, agree with you there but at the same time, it isn’t brain surgery. And with all that said, like everything else in this world, it comes down to personal preference ✌🏻✌🏻

      Just don't over illuminate a house or a room. There should be a "play" between light and shadow. Most interiors that I see with all these stick on lights make the room look a 1970's sitcom. Over lit. @@fixitwithzim
