yo i set up like 36 furnaces with basically this sytem but 12 times over with splitters and combiners very good i get 50K charcoal every like 10 mins

this was very helpful bc i play on a 100x and i usually have a bunch of sulfur so i need a bunch of charcoal so i made a bunch of these and i make like 300k an hour

you can also set up an automatic gp crafter as well by making a different smelter with elec furnaces or using the furnace system if this comment recieves a bunch of replies and likes ill make a detailed description of what to do

Great video. You can actually use only one conveyor and just set it to “resources” and connect the last furnace directly to the box “in” to complete the send/return loop. might be able to save the igniter health by setting the min/max to 100 and 1000. This will trigger the igniter less frequently I think.

yep it's the only downside to it.
You can play around with the circuit urself and add like a switch to turn on/off the igniter.
That way you'd manually choose when to use igniter durability and when not to.
Or just don't use an igniter at all and do it manually.

Here is a simple fix: Put on filter pass into a timer with 0.25 second duration. Give power into timer. Power out of timer goes to igniter.

@@thearizonaranger7376 or you can set the industrial conveyor for wood to 100 for min and 1000 for max so it will not use as much durability to where it isnt used as often so you dont have to rewire it

igniter takes 2 power, filter pass only provides 1 for some reason. what am I doing wrong?

i guess the only way to do it is have filter pass into an AND switch along with the actual power supply?

@@Gilbert96i worked around it using a timer switch. filter pass into activate switch and normal power into the power input. also allows multiple igniters

im new to rust, what do you actually do with charcoal in the game?

You use it to make gunpowder.
30 charcoal + 20 sulfur is 10 gunpowder.
If you use a mixing table it’s 20 charcoal instead.
You need a t1 workbench to craft gunpowder aswell. And gunpowder is used for ammo & explosives
