I've been a huge Sézane fan for the last couple years. But recently I really can't say that I love the brand anymore. The frequency of releasing new stuff really turns me off. It's no difference to fast fashion anymore. They also dont' seem to consider themselves sustainable anymore, didn't see them advertising anything about that recently (and they used to do it pretty often before) Also the prices keep increasing every year but the quality and materials are getting worse. I own skirts from 5 years ago that are 100 percent silk which they changed to viskose or polyester these days and also the materials and especially the buttons of many knitwear pieces were so much nicer back then
Hi Tamara 🌸 thank you for sharing your thoughts. I wish Sézane would use less polyester too, unless really necessary for one style or another, like a pleated piece, etc.. I think the best way to fight this is to not buy though. As customers, it’s our duty to make the right choices, space out our purchases and picking pieces that will last and will be actually worn. Sézane is a company and companies will work towards profit, they’re excellent at marketing and will continue to grow. The best answer we can give is to purchase in our own pace. I get messages all the time from people saying they save up to get 1 Sézane piece a month, other people who beat cancer and rewarded themselves with a shopping spree, I got messages from ladies saying how much Sézane has brought them joy after buying fast fashion for years or for example, after loosing weight and needing to upgrade their wardrobe. There’s just so many different stories! By seeing the constant drops, it gives us the impression that everyone is buying thousands of dollars weekly (I’m sure some people are), I’m just mentioning this because there are other realities too. A lot of people on my channel are completely new to Sézane so it might be their very first purchase for example. Anyways, I’m not disagreeing with you, just bringing another perspective. As for fast fashion, besides the constant drops and some pieces in polyester (normally recycled, but I understand there’s still environmental issues associated with that), I cannot place Sézane as a fast fashion brand. Fast fashion is cheap, trendy and disposable. In reality, houses such as CHANEL, Valentino, Gucci, produce pieces that cost over 2k with 100% polyester. These clothes will never end up in the landfill, different from a polyester satin finish from SHEIN that cost $2. I used to buy SO much fast fashion, my mindset was different until my late 20’s and I also couldn’t afford much. I rewarded myself at the end of the month and spent $200-$300 on SHEIN and H&M and with this money I’d get 10-20 pieces (including accessories), which is insane! Because Sezane retains its value, it sells well in the pre loved market and likely these pieces will continue to rotate and not become trash. Another concern is low wages and labor conditions, which I believe is not something the brand would be associated with. Anyways, I’m not here to advocate for Sézane, I’m just saying that as a former fast fashion consumer, I see a huge difference in their quality, cut, fabrics, stitching that I can’t even compare to what I used to buy. Some clothes I owned were completely disposable and gross 😭

These are very good points. Of course we can not compare Sézane to Shein and you're absolutely right that the pieces resell very well.
I just wish the brand would be more like it was 5 years ago but I know that this won't happen because what the are doing now is working very well for them money wise so why change that...
Speaking just for me, Sézane has lost a little bit of "the magic" with the recent development but that's actually good for my bank account 😂

Agree - especially from Fall 23 onwards - so disappointed by the fairly drastic increase in synthetic fibres, and less and less being made in the EU - which was the main draw for me. Now it's absolutely crucial to check the composition section to make sure the piece isn't poly or viscose and to really zoom in close to check out the fabric texture/weight and the buttons. Some pieces I've bought lately have been as good as ever - but I had to reject a lot of cute pieces to find what I did. Twice now I've felt that the finishing quality (e.g., sloppy buttonholes/seam finishing, cheapo buttons, unlined piece that really needed lining) was right on the border of what I'll accept, especially for the prices. So, I'm definitely not the fangirl I once was, but if you're picky over quality you can still find some nice pieces in each collection.
I don't love the amount of synthetics either, but they still have some great cotton, linen, and silk pieces. I was just looking at this collection now that it's released on the website and there are several silk pieces, including one of the dresses that I am tempted by (the Alda). I hope that they go back to having more natural fabrics. I am just skipping the synthetics unless it's for something where it makes sense (pleats, for example).
To be honest I’m more excited about the bags than the rest of the collection 😅 I find beige really tricky to wear as it can definitely wash you out. Even on pictures for more formal events, linen and beige is a combination that is hard to pull off. Also some of the pieces we’ve already seen last year so not much of a surprise there. I own the fuchsia pleated dress and it holds its shape nicely if you’re wondering 🩷

I really liked a lot of pieces from this collection and I can see how most of the pieces will be stunning for more formal events but some can definitely be worn every day. The pleated dress is stunning and I am afraid it has to be polyester or have a high percentage of it in order to hold the pleat through washes and wear. I had a wool pleated skirt and it was a nightmare to maintain the pleat. The bow dress seems like it has someone sort of transparent sequin stuck on the fabric. Its very subtle but you can see it on close-ups. The flower bag is a piece of art and it will definitely sell out fast. Overall, I think there is a piece for everyone in this collection.

I didn't spot anything that would work for my colouring, lifestyle and/or short frame, but I did love a lot of the same pieces you did, Mila! The models looked gorgeous of course, but overall nothing leapt out at me as being a "must have" for my own wardrobe. I still have a few pieces on my wish list at Sezane and a few other retailers so it's not the end of the world to save for them instead 🙂 Looking forward to seeing what you get!

I love hearing your opinion before any Sezane’s drop, Mila! I’m not overly excited about this though, most pieces are more on a warmer tone and quite dressy for my lifestyle - however, I’m quite excited about the sandals!
I love this release best of the recent ones. Probably not for my lifestyle but I especially like the blouses with some of the midi skirts. I loved the ones you modeled from last year's collection.

I hope it comes in colors that will suit my cool toned skin. I feel Sézane really are missing the opportunity for bigger sales if they offered white gold jewelry pieces. I agree with the polka dots being too big.

Hi Mila, I totally agree - the model in the tube dress has visibly lost at least 10 kilograms. I love her, neverthless, I feel the need to have midsize and plus size models integrated again because I don't identify to her size 38 anymore. This picture was 100% taken a long while ago, because she lost more weight which you can see in the recent videos.
I would add "and older models" too. There used to be a gorgeous older model with long silver hair - haven't seen her featured in recent collections unfortunately. I'm younger than she was, but older than all the current models and it was inspiring to see how they styled pieces for her - made me feel like Sezane was for me too - and would continue to be even as I get older. Not as sure about that any more....
I’m not a fan of this collection but it will be nice to see what you order and how it looks.
Hi Mila! I love your lookbook videos 😊 unfortunately none of this is practical for me, and again Sezàne consistently leaves out true petites, especially in their skirts and dresses, but there are many other brands out there that do include us! 😂 I'm looking forward to seeing what you decide on!

I was looking also at Leontina but I think the polka dots make it less versatile.. although the cut looks stunning! Have you tried Matilda or Paulina? The only thing that really caught my eye is that gold belt. Could easly dress up any dress, skirt or pants. I wish Sezane would come out with a bridal collection again. I need a wedding dress that isn´t your typical wedding dress. 😅

Unfortunately/fortunately there is not much I would wear from this collection. I will probably order the gold suit, because that is very practical in my wardrobe as a true spring. Can break up the pieces or wear it together and gold is my accessory/shoe color of choice with every outfit (because that is what works on me the best even if it is extra) so layering a gold jacket over an outfit just seems like a great idea for me. There are some cute shoes too, but that’s all I am interested in from the look book. I will save the rest of my spending money for later drops.
I have been waiting for a while for the Saffron of Claire and Sophie (if I manage to get them 🤞). Other than that, very pretty pieces but wouldn't really fit my life so passing on

I bought linnen skirts from other brands last year, but ended up returning them because they were see-through in direct sunlight, and I didn't feel like getting something separate underneath to fix that. Do you know what it's like for the Sophie skirts? Have you tested it? I'd love to know!
Yes most linen pieces I have tried are thin and see through (especially light colors). The linen they used for Sophie skirt is very thick and probably the best linen I’ve ever touched. It’s almost too structured. My terracotta one is not see through at all, but I’m not sure about the newer versions in ecru and beige, I can’t wait to see them in person. 😍

Most of these pieces are warm toned and not practical for my everyday style - so, most of this drop is not for me. Maybe I'll buy one of the skirts as I'm a fan of skirts. The bold flowery print of one of the skirts looks lovely but at the same time intimidating... Anyway, I wasted my entire budget on Sezane's winter pieces, so I hope they keep dropping pieces I cannot (or don't want to) wear...
Great silhouettes, however not much to choose from for the girls on the cooler side of the color wheel in this collection. Sezane is very much leaning into the warmer colors anyway, beiges, gold etc…. 😢
You’re absolutely right! I don’t know what is going on with Sézane but they haven’t really released many cool toned pieces lately. That’s so weird, they normally vary their colors a lot more. Hope the next drop has more shades that suit cool tone girls 🫶🏼

The polka dot blue white fabric was not for me either. Kinda of reminded me of the circus. That sounds really mean. The collection is beautiful but outside of my lifestyle as well so won’t be buying. For those who have occasion or lifestyle to wear they will be lovely.

Any pleated dress needs to be polyester, or it would cr8nkle and look awful, that does not bother me.
You’re right, I don’t think another fabric would keep the pleats in place. :) I recently got a pair of pants from Sézane all pleated, also in poly. Probably the first piece I ever tried from them in this fabric though.
When you see someone commenting on polyester it’s likely for 2 reasons, either for environmental concerns or simply because it’s a very cheap fabric and we’re paying a high amount on these pieces (Layla dress costs about $270 with taxes here in the US)
I won’t be purchasing anything from this collection. Nothing is a winner for a petite girl with curves. I don’t like polyester or viscose, so I will wait for linen.
I prefer natural fibers too! There’s a lot of linen in this collection but some of the cuts and styles are not friendly for curvy or petites, like you mentioned. If you like linen, I think Claire blouse + Malia skirt would be great 😍 it’s such a pretty set! I want to see what they show us tomorrow, there’s always some hidden gems!
