Cleveland Facebook murder: Remembering Robert Godwin Sr. 4 years later, daughter writes book

- Robert Godwin Sr. was collecting cans in Cleveland on Easter Sunday in 2017 when gunman Steve Stephens opened fire in a random killing that has become known as the Cleveland Facebook murder. Stephens recorded video of the crime and uploaded the footage to Facebook. Now, four years later, his daughter is discussing a book she released to help others cope with grief. The book, titled 'From Grief to Grace,' took her nearly three years to write. It's now available on Amazon.com.

I remember this senseless murder. I have Mr Godwins photo saved in my phone so I can remember him .and as long as we say his name he is loved and not forgotten. What a good man's life cut short too soon

Ma’am I just want you to know that I still get so bad for your father and his family. He reminded me so much of my own pawpaw, it really still hurts to think about this case years later. It physically makes me nauseous to even think about seeing that video. I won’t ever watch it again, because it’s just too hard on my spirit. I know your father is okay now. I spend far too much time on gore sites I have seen easily hundreds to thousands of people be murdered or tortured in cold blood I am seriously desensitized to real life violence but this killing actually made me stop in my tracks because you get to see the killers motive and thought process in the video, we don't get to see his entire motive, he asks the old man to say someone's name and also says that name is the reason this is about to happen, and then he asks his age before shooting him in the head, before the old man dies he says something along the lines of "I don't know anybody by that name" ofcourse the old man has no idea because he has been chosen randomly to die, absolutely heartbreaking I really really do feel bad for this old man and his family
Same. I can watch a lot of stuff, I HAVE watched a lot of stuff. But I will not watch this video ever again. It hurts me so bad to see an old dude, who reminds me so much of my own grandfather who passed years ago, he taken out in such a violent, senseless way for zero reason. He died alone, on the streets of Cleveland. He should’ve died of old age surrounded by his large family that he loved and care for, in his community he loved so much, he went out the day he was killed to pick up trash and cans to sell for money to donate to the local church. Ugh. God the heartbreak is real. God bless you Mr. Godwin.
