Next in the sequence of BBC2 half hour tapes; again presented here as fair use/research - as far as i am aware there is no information available elsewhere on this and the other aspects of trade transmissions at this time.
Thank You for posting. I never thought I’d hear the haunting Test Card Chimes again, as at 29.10 . That fourth was the first interval I could recognise straight away when I was learning to play keyboard.
The BBC ident occurs twice before then but who cares! I am intriuiged by your reference to a fourth though? The lead notes are (of course) B,B and C harmonised to a perfect cadence.
I remember getting up early in the mornings and waiting for the music to start on the two test cards, BBC1 at 0900, BBC2 after 4 mins tone at 0905. The Cordoba tape was nearly always the BBC2 tape deployed at this time.
The first track is called Cordoba and is available on a compilation CD with other test card music on it. A fan and an admirer from Pakistan.
The ‘Cordoba’ tape, September 1968 to November 1971 - quite a long run!
I still have part of the first track (flamenco style music) on tape from the day - what a fine piece of music!
