Seems like this was the way they intended Necro to work: lower-effort combat & easier-to-acquire gear. It makes end-game content a reality for many more people.
I disagree you need to be a sweat to kill this boss otherwise your gonna get your ass handed to you.

This type of guide I actually think is more useful than a properly edited guide with graphics and timestamps and everything. All players really need is a talkthrough with pauses to explain what and why things are happening, because if you describe to me a bosses special attack while I'm not looking at the screen, I'll have well forgotten it by the time I make it to the boss myself or even the section of a full guide where it's shown there. I had no real interest in killing TFN but now I'm actually keen to see if I can snag some T95 drops, thanks mate
Just ran this myself and secured my first kill, but my god he hits hard. T90 tank armor, hellhound, aegis, T95 weapons, blue blubbers & sara brews AND the Zuk cape, and the damage seems easily double what is shown here.
As others have said, not sure if Rasial's been tweaked or not, but something is amiss comparing this guide to the live game experience under the same conditions
Yeah seriously. Something's been changed. He is MUCH harder than what is shown here. Im not healing NEARLY as much as RS guy is, and im taking easily double the damage. He's doing it with t70 power armor at one point and just ss camping it. If I do that with t80 power armor and t90 weapons, i get absolutely clapped.

My main issue with this boss is dealing damage while running around in p2, I can't really build stacks.

I'm going to be honest I have no idea how you're taking so little damage. Even with darkness + full t90 tank armor I am melting through health 3x faster than you are.
I suspect hes doing quest version. Or boss got buffed or smth.

It works actually for me too now. You need to have that familiar and ideally the aura from the Solomon store.
@@FearTheOldB aegis aura and hellhound (from ge not solo store) along with dmg reduction on tank armour and hes not actually on story mode since the health is 800k

i have the same issue.
i have chewed trough 4 brew flasks and 6 blubbers by the time the first 'volley of souls' comes out. my hellhound is also already dead since i can't keep its healing up.
same with you. EXACT gear and loadout. eating within the first 20 seconds and gone through 3 blues and 2 sara

Something is definitely off here. I'm in t90 power, fully perked, using hellhound and he's slapping me silly. Literally double the damage that you show at the power armour part with t70. Aegis is only 10% so i know you're not cutting 50% of the dmg with that so something has to have changed.

@@MrWanted000 Yeah it takes time. Once you get a good rotation down you won't notice it as much. This was me kinda just being bad.
Eventually you can full on power through without defensives by just dealing damage and soulsplit w/ Venging the big hits.
Until then, cycle in some reflects, debilitate (i think its called), and it will make things easier.

I tried this with T80 power and T90 weapons and lvl 101 necro. Did exactly how you said it but his damage was just crazy high, I was out of brews and nlubbers before he got to 500k health

yea, Rasial does a very high damage. So what I did it is deliberate at the start of the fight, and then reflect after deliberate 50% dmg reduce is off. Drinking sara brew meanwhile. When Rasial is about to have 4 souls, be ready to deflect necromancy and devotion.

Thank you ! I nearly gave up on him, but now I'm able to kill him reliably without spending a fortune on supplies. I added a living death rotation at the start and I'm getting 2:30 kills now.

Thanks for the low effort guid, really useful. I haven't managed to get the Rasial kill with it (not sure why) but the bar has let me solo nex for the first time ever and get a virtus top.
I appreciate the video and help as usual. I love low effort play styles. My go to style for killing bosses is usually running around like a headless chicken and eating a lot of food. So low effort revo setups are my favorite lol.
Idk how you can just chill while soul splitting through his dmg. Im just getting wrecked with t90 tank armour, darkness, aegis aura...
I don't get it either... bought T95 armor, SS, elder OVL, Hellhound,.. he hits me 1.5k's all the time?

I really appreciate guides like this geared towards scrubs such as myself. It's so useful when I'm not trying to learn every mechanic and be as efficient or speedy as possible but rather I'm just trying to get my first kills in. Once I can get through the entire fight THEN I can start looking to optimize and increase my skill level.

Almost never comment like ever, but that rotation for Rasial is a GODSEND. I was about to fold on the T80 power armor upgrade because of nex. But when I used that rotation I was able to down nex in my first attempt after an hour or 2 of failures to even get a kill. Tysm for this guide! Will definitely utilize it when I get to Rasial myself.
You can also use scythe in other boss fights which is pretty awesome damage
thank you for doing these video's. im newish to pvm can only do arc glaser with 3 mechanics max so this helps me out a lot as i am not good at prayer flicking.
Such a great way of going about a guide, showing how its not a huge deal, no reason to get worked up. Easy and concise i love it.
I dunno what I'm doing wrong Rasial just melts me in an instant. By the time he spawns and I attack him he has already done like 7k dmg to me sometimes he hits me for 5k lmao cant do anything to him 😭
See this is what i needed. Everyone i ever asked is like do this and this and not understanding that I don't play this game like them and I need it really simplified because I play for fun and to relax. It isn't a competition.

Love the guide, just a quick question, will barricade work in final fase with greater bone shield? Or is level of the shield to low for the duration of barricade?

Yea this doesnt work. Not sure if hes doing the quest boss or maybe boss got buffed but this doesnt work.

It does actually work very well. You need to have the familiar and ideally the aura from the store.

ive used the hellhound and the aura but i still take 2-3x the damage he does@@FearTheOldB

If you time it well you can anticipate before he stuns you and move forward with surge or just move two tiles to avoid being stunned

despite the low input and easy method I still just seem to die constantly and get crushed by the attacks :( pvm is painful
I have the same setup and the damage is far too much, I just chomp through the food and that can't even keep me alive, I die in seconds frustrating :(

@@eleflux6609 I finally managed to kill him well 25 times now, I was using t90 power armour to start but ended up trying t90 tank with sailfish soup, the extra dodge effect with darkness really helps out. Just do as the vid shows stand in the same spot but protect necro all the time. Little tip for the last phase when you get him to about 300k HP, build up some adrenaline and make sure you have some stuff off cool down and 3 souls before the final phase, when you get to the final phase hug the wall where rasial is then just keep running side to side, for instance run left use an ability run right use an ability. Works for me
@@farcry79 I ended up getting him shortly after, but still inconsistent. Probably 9 out of the 10 kills I got were 3 min 30 sec to 3 min 50 sec because of last phase and half of those I was using full set of brews and food. Other half I was using half my brews and had most of my blubbers left. Just couldn't keep up with the food, so brews were my go to even with the cost. That and a lot of reaver scrolls for now lol. Had one kill around 2 1/2 min though that I didn't use much.
Will try the hugging the platform thing. I was trying the small box in front of him method, but getting hit a lot. Ended up running all over lol. Think total I have spent upwards of 40m on him and got maybe 2-2.5m back so far lol. Farming up some gp and cleaning bank to either buy his armor, weapons, or both to use on him.... probably one or the other though lol. Would be a week minimum if I really was grinding it to do both when one might push me into consistent kills to farm drops. Plus I still need undead codex.

Great guide, nice to see someone explain how to actually handle each mechanic, what they are looking for, thought process, ect. Any chance you coach some worse players on stream after you are 200M? Seems like the perfect skill to help someone learn full manual.

I really love how even this boss ties into things we've learned from tutorial bosses like Arch-Glacor. Volley of Souls is negatable by pretty much the same combos as the ice cannon from Glacor (on harder mode with the multi-hit version). Combined with the incredible valuable ability to just have access to defensives at all times like I'm using a defender really makes necromancy accessible while still rewarding mastery.
Exact same setup, still take a ton of damage. Odd. Fun boss though

can you tell me how to keep adrenaline up while doing Necro? It stays at 100-110% for all other skills, not sure why it won't for necro. This is a great guide so thanks for taping it!

Definitely recommend zuk before. Not just for the cape, but zuk teaches you rotations and dps and rasial is basically just an advanced rotation based boss. Like you can literally count when to use anticipation then devotion to prevent the stun then prevent the volley of souls then continue rotation. I don’t soul split. I get burned through hp like everyone in the comments, so I just use hellhound and keybind protect necromancy and just watch my overhead. It takes up so much damage and reflects so much back it makes a huge difference, I can’t dps enough for soul split to work. It requires more attention, but you’ll last longer.

I have all the gear, and same ability bar and am doing everything the same. Rasial is absolutely shredding me. Yes I have Darkness on, the aegis aura, a hellhound, soul split.. everything. It takes me about a minute longer, and I run out of sailfish during the last phase. I cant tell what the fuck im doing wrong.
problem is exactly that you are using sailfish instead of brew/superguthix + blue jelly. Sails drop your adren, making you lose your dps, making you lose your damage output and ss heals. thats why it takes you longer with the same setup
@@snowlady159 Except for a lot of us, if we try to use blubbers, they can't keep up with his damage output and Ras kills us before we can even get through 1/4 of our food. With all the mitigation in place.... and that is just with his normal unavoidable attacks.
@@snowlady159 rsguy uses no food at all for most of the fight so this shouldnt even matter
I honestly don't know what I am doing wrong with Ras. Did all the Kili tasks no problem, did Zuk no problem with necro and hadn't even done him before. But Ras.... just doesn't seem to matter what I do. Tried the Hellhound for damage mitigation, Darkness for dodge, boosted health, salve (e) for a bit and swapped ammy to souls for increased healing from split.... even tested a tank set (granted t70 tank) to see if the dodge from it would be consequential. I can sit there spam healing and die not being able to keep up with his damage right off the rip. With t90 power I can get him to 50% or so before healing just can't keep up. Seems like everyone in the videos takes almost nothing for damage comparatively....
Exactly where I am at, with T90 tank and power. I feel I am taking 2-3x the damage everyone in the videos seems to be taking and it loses the sustain after the first half. Not sure what I am missing.

Just tried this exactly and it doesnt work. I swear they buffed him because I was able to get to the last phase last week with t80 power. I saw this and wanted to try with tank gear and I am taking a heck of a lot more damage.
wasnt able to get a kill tonight, but made it to last phase twice so hopefully when i try again tmmrw i can get atleast 1 kill

No clue what I'm doing wrong, watched the video but I can't heal enough and die super fast. Got T90 weapons and armour (power) but I can't survive like you are
I'm really confused as to how you survive with power armor and just a revo bar. He's surviving without food with only t70 power armor and camping soul split. Im using an elder overload, t80 power armor, t90 weapons, salve amulet, ring of death, zuk cape, vampyrism aura for added healing, blood reaver, t95 curse for necromancy, vuln bomb, the same revo bar.... And I die in about 4-5 hits in to the fight. Like I don't understand how he survives the fight at all

Followed loads of guides, he just 1 shots me before i can do anything to him, died over 20 times, can't take him under 700k hp, idk what im doing wrong but it's tilting
They definitely low-key buffed this boss, he gets enough stacks for volley of souls twice in the time I use devotion once and waiting for the CD. Also getting melted before I even get him to P2, if anyone can do an update video for this boss because something is way off compared to this video.

I feel like I'm missing something big here, SS camping just isn't working for me. Unless I pray necro, he literally melts me in under 10 seconds every time. I don't even get to the first mechanic. what gives?
Same bro - something feels really off when we apply the same tactics and soul split even with EOF and full army still doesn't seem to heal enough with tank armour.
@@billbobaggz after a while of trying I kind of just came to the conclusion I'm not doing enough DPS to heal enough with SS 😭😂 but yeah all my gear is the same or better.
Getting consistent kills now after trying for a bit, I just pray necro and deal with keeping an eye on it for most of the fight, at 200K LP switch to SS, vit pot, and enhanced excal, keep moving and cycle reflect/debilitate/resonance, you'll get there!
@@billbobaggz also, jellies and Sara brews over any other kind of food here, adren is probably more important here than any other boss I've tried

You can have dodge chance in power gear with the incantation don’t need tank gear for dodge chance
I think he meant he didn't have the EXTRA dodge chance, from the Tank gear set effect 👍

Good guide helped me for a kill somewhat but I’m still not sure what I’m doing wrong because my first normal kill took 4:27, I have a Zuk cape, Bis gizmos and the rest of the setup mentioned :s I find last phase really poorly designed but I guess it is what it is

honestly all I changed was not camping soul split. I just pray protect necro and when he turns it off I turn it back on. Thats really it, and I take a invent full of rocktails (super cheap but drains adren, whateva) and I usually make it out with a couple to spare. Sue me but it works. Just switch to soul split when he's in the last phase behind his wall and run like hell and spam abilities/food till he's dead.
what perks are you using on this? im trying this out and im still getting shredded in dmg and not dealing anywhere near as much in t80 power and t90 weapons.

k so idk if im stupid, bad or missing something but this does not work at all. Ive triple checked everything, same gear (slightly better), same familiar, same revo bar and followed everything but i still take way too much damage and die very very quickly.
I've never even done GWD2 but this guys got me thinking I could take Rasial....
id love a full bar shown without the conjuers summoned so I can see exactly what I need
