      It’s an automated system. The county where my dad works the EMS dispatcher for all public ambulance services use an automated system and it does it on the MDTS in the EMS rigs where my dad works. It’s freaky.

    It is because of all the hills in and around the downtown core. So stations Ladders 1, 4, 10 tend to be three axle rigs.

    hell yeah i agree, i only ask, because in england the emergency vehicle drivers do it most of the time, but in england its only courtesy to move out of the way, there is no law requiring you to allow them to pass,which in my eyes is wrong, i dont know if there is a particular law in the usa or in any state that makes it mandatory to move out of the way,,

    Why firefighters where headphones inside the apparatus well its not just a headphone its for communication with each other and the distpatch while there inside the apparatus and other responding unites.so you're emergency first responders in Europe probably use handheld devices to communicate with there dispatch just like we use to do here in United States.but now our communication radio we use now days are digital vhs uhs 800mhz system.

Just filled out a few papers that pretty much said the fire dept is not responsible for any injury or death. But I did this as community service, doubt any dept will let you ride along just cause you want to. Best of luck

    • @allen480
      @allen480 Před 5 měsíci

      The truck has a Federal Sig. EQ2b 200 watt electronic siren with flush mounted (on the bumper) dual driver speaker. The speaker is highly directional so the majority of its sound is projecting forward. Thats why , in the cabin) it sounds(dull). The sound is generated using DSP; digital signal processing. This makes it possible to very closely sound like the traditional mechanical EQ2B. Most apparatus are now using the “e” version for reducing in cab hearing loss . The older mechanical is still being manufactured and commonly sold to Fire-Rescue services that want them. Hope this helps.

      Wrong. Completely wrong. You ALWAYS pull to the right, and stop. Say it with me. "Pull to the right, and stop". Not the left. Not the middle. Not stopping in place. You pull to the right, and stop.
      Why? Because ambulances and fire engines are trained to pass on the left. That's the safe side. If you pull to the left, you could pull in front of the truck, causing an accident. How do I know all this? I'm an EMT. I drive an ambulance every day.
