    I loved Game Show Network back when they had the viewer interaction games, and, when they had the cooler game shows, like Tic Tac Dough, Bullseye, Card Sharks, and The Joker's Wild. They still have Card Sharks, (but, Now, they just have the more popular shows, like Family Feud, Match Game, and Wheel of Fortune!!)

    Yep Game Show Network was awesome for the first several years and then like every other channel (except Antenna and Me-TV, so far) it went down the dumper.

    If GSN isn't willing to back to their old ways, I say its time to start giving them competition. Someone should start a rival channel who will do what GSN will no longer do: Show classic game shows. All about supply and demand. There is a demand, GSN wont give the supply, then another network should buy the rights to the shows and let someone else show them if GSN will not.

    One thing I have always liked at the end of a long credit roll onTTD is if a game is in progress and there was an O on the board the camera could come in on the O and have the title appear, and simultaniously have x's and o's flash on the screen. I have always wondered how the they did that. Any help would be appreciated.

    GSN did improve somewhat in 2001 when Cronin came in as President of the network, they just didn't completely go back to what they were for the first few years.

    If its what I'm thinking of, I think it was an early computer generated animated graphic... There are probably a couple of clips from others that have that...

    WREYtube, this show did not air in early 1979 during the first syndicated season. Instead, this show was aired in the second syndicated daily season, aired Monday, December 17, 1979 in first-run (Monday, September 15, 1980 in reruns).

  • @WREYtube
    @WREYtube  Před 11 lety +2

    I would hope so, but I think the more likely outlet is releasing shows online (Like hulu did with some Hollywood Squares). The problem is demographics. The main targets (18-34) weren't around or are too young to remember many of the great shows, something that wasn't a problem when GSN aired these regularly in the 90s, which is why I think there is a dearth of great shows from the 80s on even in cable. many people tend not to watch what is older than they are, sadly. So the market vanishes. :(

    • @bmasters1981
      @bmasters1981 Před 6 lety +1

      I'm not one of those-- many of my favorites are older than I am, some much older (things like Perry Mason, M Squad, Wanted: Dead or Alive, Barney Miller, The Bob Newhart Show, etc.).

    WREYtube, how many episodes of (Tic Tac Dough) from original broadcast syndication, CBN, USA Network, and GSN do you have? can you upload full episodes on Dailymotion and Vimeo instead of just intros and closings since it's so tough here on You Tube? one more thing, since you have a lot of 1970's stuff is it possible you got any of the 45 shows of the CBS (Tic Tac Dough) July 3-September 1,1978 or did your affiliate carry it or not?

  • @WREYtube
    @WREYtube  Před 12 lety +1

    Point taken, but try to be a little nicer about it. This comes off as slightly condescending... I put in many hours of my free time creating these clips (and their descriptions and researching to double-check to try and eliminate errors) to share some great memories from my video library. Perhaps a PM or something worded differently when calling me out would be better. There were a few things that led me to think that it was earlier in 1979 and is not a case of deliberate misinformation...
