- More than 90 feet in the air, Foreman II Lineman Stacy Jole, left, Rocky Mountain Regional Manager Brad Warren and Administrator Mark Gabriel are bonded onto an energized 345-kV transmission line, July 17, 2013, and grab the live line with their bare hands. (Video by Troy Jole)

These men sure have a lot of *potential*
I don't care how safe that technically is, those fuckers are brave
This " line" of work is truly special
some person at their house: why are my lights flickering?
pov: the random guy wondering why his power is cutting out intermittently
I guess this is why utilities have those glove-testing stations in most substations....they use compressed air to test gloves for pinhole leaks.
This the barehand method, no rubber used, rubber is conductive at this voltage
Spaß mit Spannung ;-)
Impressive
Well, that's insane! How do they keep from getting juiced?
+wingsley They are standing inside a bucket truck that has been bonded to the transmission line, so they can touch the energized line without being harmed. Our linemen train on and use this technique, called bare-hand, to perform specific maintenance activities while the transmission line is still live.
Ungrounded
They are at the same potential as that one phase of the transmission line voltage so no current flows through their body.
@@budders9958can touch without gloves and suit ?
@@Pera-Peric theoretically yes. But at that distance gloves don't do anything to help you they're too close they're within the minimum approach distance.
how much is the salary for this job in usa
what's the use of the metal hook from the 3rd guy?
jsc It's to put the cart they're in at the same voltage, so they don't get zapped every time they need to touch the wire.
It bonds the bucket to the transmission line I'm guessing. Who knows.
😮Theres no way.
Special.
