He’s simply going by what he knows as a common casino rule. (I see casino dealers muck players hands all the time if they’re not in their seat when the hand is dealt)…. He likely thinks he’s doing the “right thing”, and for you to lambaste him so strongly - it’s not a great look for you Lex.

I met MoneyMaker at Maryland Live about five years ago. Chris ended up playing 1/3 at my table for about an hour after somebody politely heckled him to come play with us. Chris was super friendly and didn't turn down any picture or autograph requests. A true man of the peasants.
I have read that it was a mistake by Chris to register for a satellite. He actually wanted to play a regular tournament. When he won and found out he hadn't won any money, he was surprised, but he just packed his bags and went to Las Vegas!

Chris Moneymaker is NOT the one responsible for the poker boom....ESPN is responsible for putting out an amazing edited version of poker that made it exciting to watch.
It is the standard rule every place I have ever played. Obv holding the game up for people not seated slows the game down. Things like this in addition to your tipping policy will do you no favors among regs and dealers. Good regs will do anything they can to put you on tilt.
I had a chance to play 1-3 with Moneymaker at Ballys in Atlantic City. That room never reopened after Covid but was one of the nicest rooms in the city.
