thank you for this video! I was having "blonde girl issues" trying to put it together with the directions provided and watching you assemble yours made everything click for me :)
I have this desk and have been using it for close to a year. It is definitely not the cheapest option but I can confirm it is extremely well made, of a very high quality and does a fantastic job. The groves for phones and tablets are especially handy. Not sure there are any downsides to the desk but a couple of points to note... on wooden or laminate flooring it can roll away if the floor is not flat and also it does take up a fair amount of space due to the angle at which the shelf sits from the base.
This is an underrated accessory and as you suggest Shane will boost productivity. $300 sounds steep however I've perused the market but it's actually ballpark compared to the other options. The budget option are hospital overbed tables which can offer the adjustable height OVER the bars but not quite the same functionality.
I don't know what impressed me most, the offset bolt position rather than bolt through of the lower leg fasteners or the +shane miller show of Lama core strength!
You didn't look too stressed when you did the test. Just the same I was impressed with the Nadia Comăneci impression. I'll give that routine a 10! It looks pretty good. A smart Wahoo engineer might have instead made provision for the forks to drop in to that fixed frame, and had the top table slide back and forth on runners. That would allow a bike to be used without either front or rear wheels, get it closer to a wall so the trainer setup took up less room, and made the whole setup more rigid. But luckily I'm not a Wahoo engineer. ... or smart.
I don't think there is much to go through; the set up is easy, the strength is crazy, the capacity is massive, the adjustment is amazing - well worth the money I spent on it IMO. Only bad thing is how expensive it is.
Very Nice.. Noticed first thing needed is a very sharp knife to open box..... And good to know no phone syncing required. Also glad to see how high it goes being a 6ft8incyclist (2.03meters) I need it tall...
Good thing you are at close to your race weight Shane! There was some flex in the unit. I was waiting for the disclaimer to the effect that larger riders should not try this at home. Your review justified the price to me
Nice review, Shane, thanks. Though it may not seem such a point, I'd suggest a possible upgrade: a 2 wheel arrangement at the front, in order to get a more stable 4 point base, instead of a triangular one...
I'm really glad it didn't brake, but it would have been comedy gold the look on your face when you got up off the floor.More Lama Jackass style testing.
Thoughts with the Kickr Climb being thrown into the mix - with your ideal work setup there? I guess just push out of the way? Raise it higher still? ;o
Looks cool, but how well does it keep you cool when the fans are turned on? Wouldn't the tabletop block the wind from the fans that is supposedly aimed at your torso to control your core body temp during workouts?
FYI they make generic versions of this desk that look and function exactly the same (i.e. not talking about some hospital bed frame, but one that looks exactly like the Wahoo unit). I like Wahoo products but for this contraption I'll gladly pocket the saved money and get 100% of the same functionality.
Thought about one of these, but $249.99 plus $120.00 shipping to Canada plus $34.00 taxes, all in American dollars, love the Wahoo product but that's a bit steep at $402 dollars, with the conversion rate its $521! Thanks but no thanks Wahoo. Don't know why it's $120 to put something on a truck across the border.
Anyone looking for an affordable build it yourself option look me up on Twitter (Edward_Riordon). I posted a Vid and a bunch of screenshots on how to build a floating stand that mounts to any bike repair stand. Love using it with my rollers. twitter.com/Edward_Riordon/status/853794038314565632
Any thoughts on sweating onto the desk? I.e. forehead drip or stray sweat...(I often wonder how I get sweat on my Garmin during Zwift sessions, but I think hard breathing blows some further than expected. I would be worried about a laptop...
While I agree that it seems to be a high quality product I just don't see myself paying USD 300 for one. That's almost a nice bike computer or any other essentials. Wahoo's profit margin on this really seems to be high considering the materials it's made from
Shane Miller thanks for clarifying that makes it a little more palatible. i know most of the cost is on design and maybe manufacturing, not so much materials so please let us know how you like it in a few weeks. That might make the cost more bearable
7:12 you missed the best opportunity to blast some Rick Astley trolling When you mentioned the grippy top at the start of the vid, I was expecting some butylene overmoulding, not, actual gripping material...
Nice full Wahoo setup you fanboy! ;) Table looks super nice. Unfortunately it's also super expensive. There are some cheaper hospital bed desk thingys (with adjustable height and wheels) but they are a bit smaller, not so functional and I bet you can't do full body workout on those.

Respect! Impressive core strength there, Shane!

Hey Shane, I love mine. One thing to watch for though. The bolts are prone to rust with sweat. Especially the ones on the wheels. Take precautions.
Disappointing that you weren't as thorough as usual. You forgot to update to the latest firmware.
I don't think there is much to go through; the set up is easy, the strength is crazy, the capacity is massive, the adjustment is amazing - well worth the money I spent on it IMO. Only bad thing is how expensive it is.
it was a joke.

I am surprised you waited sop long to get one. Love mine. Couldn't do without it
The real question is if shane ever doesn't go straight into it
Jon Tze well played 👍🏼

Dude, those moves are beast mode for a cyclist!
Another brilliant product by a great company
ha entertaining video!...cool kit.... but $300!? wow Wahoo must be making a killing on their margins.
Wahoo must be laughing every time someone orders one of these things
Really good review, you answered every question I had & more. 5⭐️
Shane.. thanks for the review

My compact desk stripped to bottle cases, weighed down by kettlebells do the job :D
Love mine....works well, laptop plus 24" TV to watch films/TV while riding on zwift.
How do you clean the surface of the desk and remove stains without damaging it or staining it more?
as always great video Shane! now I want one lol... I have a ghetto one I built lol
Now if you got a SRAM wireless groupset you could even set up satellite pods on the desk for your shifting
Von is going to want one Shane.
Yep! I'll see if we can 'share' this one first....

Hopefully we'll see the Climb soon and find out! :)
SNAP... WHAM!

It'll need a fan repositioning for solid workout efforts.
Very good piece of kit, but seems really expensive for what it is - from someone who has a Kickr and a Kickr Climb!

I've seen those on Amazon. They came out not too long after Wahoo released this. Can't get them here though.
why is the wahoo key necessary for the ipad when you can sync your accessories to bluetooth
I can't recall....this video was a while back. There's no reason if you're using BLE. I'm not a normal use-case.

$120 shipping!? My word! It'd be cheaper to drive over and pick one up yourself.
At those prices it's almost cheaper to fly..... Awesome review though Shane, will be on the hunt for one more so now but at a better price point.

I’m getting 1

Non issue... unless you're a fire hydrant. In which case you wouldn't place it in the drop zone.
lol...."the manual is there" spoken like a true bloke
IMAWESTIE2 I
Brilliant
Did you have to reposition your fans because the desk is right in front of you now.
Yep.
What the brand and model name of your old tablet Shane? Can't offer me the Wahoo one but your old one looks good for my needs ;)
Tablet holder? The music stand? On Stage SM7211b Conductor Stand

Shane does it get in the way of the ventilation from the fans?
Depends where you put them.
Fair enough : ) . I like the product. I shared your video on LinkedIn so more people can see your review of this standing desk.

Getting 1
Shane, your 6-pack is showing!

What’s the name of the tv mounts? I need me one of those :)

Shane Miller awesome, Thanks :)

My neck doesn’t enjoy the screen up so hi
@1:40 Is that the Lama test? :D
Did anyone else fear for his life during the stress test?
$300 for a $80 product, everything that is wrong with cycling
Shane, Wiggle uk do a lifeline direct copy for £80.
Looks like AU$205.68. Free delivery to AU though. Bonus.
@@gplama I have this unit and it has the bonus of bottle holders as well 👍
Looks like you bent it in the middle
horse gymnast in a previous life :P
Why do people buy 300$ tables when you can get the same for 15
You can’t get anything like this for $15. There are cheaper alternatives, not for $15.
As a cyclist on a budget I just use my smart tv from 20 feet away from my bike.
the price is ridiculous
You throw your things around too much.... Like money is nothing... Lol
