It's 2024 and even 50+ years later, Karen Carpenter's voice remains one of the most angelic to have ever graced our world! And if you like this comment, you've got exceptional musical taste. Click the I❤Karen button below:

I agree...absolutely!!!! ✌🏻
The voice like no other.
Concordo! Deus a levou para que Ela cantasse para Ele...
I couldn't agree with you more.
Not taking away from Karen and her angelic voice but my favourite rendition of this song is by Rita Coolidge the Delta Lady. Either way it is the genius of Leon Russell on show.
Right in the middle of all the Drug Hippie Madness of the 70s we had this Angelic voice of Sanity!
I am already 75 years old and every time I listen to Karen Carpents voice I think where has all the beautiful music that used to be gone?
I agree , great music by classy people. 75 is the new 60 my friend, I see people in their 80s working out at my gym. Gods speed
I wept when I heard this song as a 12 year old and wept again listening to it in the eternal now at 64 years old.
Richard was equally talented, actually created that distinct Carpenters sound.
50 years have elapsed and no one will ever touch my heart the way Karen Carpenter did with her compassion and emotional performances...
Incredible vocal range. She was second to none.
I cried when I saw this! 😢it was so touching to me. She was an angel. ❤ she deserved so much more!
Imagine what Richard Carpenter must've been feeling at that moment...Hearing his sister's magnificent voice coming through those headphones.
One of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. Music just isn’t the same as it was in the 70’s.
I’m 70 years old and the best decades for me were the mid sixties and all of the seventies! KC sounds like an Angel from Heaven❤❤❤
All genres of 70's music is simply the best nothing else comes close
Agreed, how many bands were we blessed with in the 70s? Amazing stuff!
@@chriswatts1680 AND 60's.
Truely the voice of an angel. I miss her so much.
Just awesome
Makes you want to 😢
Happy new year
she had absolutely perfect pitch. her voice was like a musical instrument.
Much more than any instruments.
As long as the world exists mankind will never hear a voice like this a gift from God
No ha habido ni habrá nada ni semejante a KAREN!❤
Karen Carpenter's voice was like pain, heartache, and sorrow wrapped in velvet. That's the best way I can describe it
That was my dream, as a 6-year old in 2001, to have her velvety singing voice, though Richard’s was airy, played piano at 12, rest in heavenly peace Karen
also great joy and happiness !
That's one way to look at it.
Soft,smooth......
Correcto,estoy de acuerdo.
this was her ballad to us.
no one will ever be able to repeat it…
Years will continue to pass and Karen's voice will stand out as one of the best. The smoothness and clarity of her voice will always be an example of perfection. Karen left us way too early, but she left us her music to last eternity. Karen, you did well. Now, go rest in peace. Many people will continue to enjoy your talents. You will forever be young and have a golden voice. ❤
Teruna kasih tuhan atas karunia yang diberikan kepada kita sehingga bisa menikmati merdunya suara2 yang indah
Lleva 40 años descansando en paz 😮❤la extrañamos 😅le estará cantando a los ángeles 😅

Her voice was that of an Angel! She graced us with her gift. Never forgotten.
This song brings me back to the 70s when I was just a young boy.
She had, has, and will have no equal.
EVERY instrument and its expert handler in this production makes for an orchestral MASTERPIECE. The luscious, longing, seductive tone of the clarinet and the somber french horns (and other wind instruments) introduce, complement, and reinforce the entire mood; the rest of the equally brilliant musicians coalesce in creating a captivating, soaring, symphonic companion to Karen's pitch-perfect musical story-telling. An absolute FEAST for the ears and the SOUL.
Mesmerizing. She made men AND women fall in love with her equally, which continues to this day. PERFECTION.
How they combined studio version with orchestra is beyond me.
Stunningly acoustically beauty...........never to be equaled .......music at its finest form...........
Oh to hear that voice again. What a pure, beautiful talent. Nice that her brother put this together with the orchestra. The whole thing is lovely.
No Carpenter collection is complete without this album. The digital quality is just astounding, and Karen's voice so clean and sharp. What a great effort, Richard!
Le han hecho arreglos nuevos 😮filarmónicas 😢o como se diga 😢
Karen Carpenter is and will ever be the best Karen ever.. a pure genius. So sad we lost her so so soon RIP Karen.
An interviewer once asked legendary songwriter Leon Russell which of his many versions of “Superstar” was his favorite. Without offending the other artists who have covered his song, he simply told the interviewer “I have always been a huge fan of Karen Carpenter.”
When I was in 6th grade in 1974 I was blessed to sing with the Carpenters. Best memory of my childhood. I miss her voice so much. ♥️
I would love to hear more of that story.
@@michaelstancato6057 Hi Michael. I should have clarified more. It was my whole 6th grade class that sang with the Carpenters at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho where they put on a concert. We sang the chorus for Sing, Sing a song. We practiced for months with our grade school music teacher. It was so much fun. A month or so later we all received carpenters memorabilia from them which I still have today. That was 50 years ago! I’ve loved her ever since and my heart still aches that we don’t have more music from her. I can’t wait to meet her in heaven and listen to her singing music with her angelic voice!
@@NaeNae62 The greater the artist, the more vulnerable they are. This needs to be understood, and they need to be protected. In memory of Karen Carpenter, Michael Jackson, Prince, Jimmy Hendrix, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Curtis Cobain, John Belushi, Elvis, Mark Rothko, Van Gogh, John Lennon ....
@@michaelstancato6057 amen!
@Renee Whitehead Thank you for the wonderful memories. I remember my 9 years older sister being into their music. I remember the 1st televised Grammys where they won awards. I watched it because of my sister's enthusiasm.
Timeless. Listening to Karen sing brings back so many memories. There will never be another voice like hers
I'm 73 and have never heard such purity ,a once in a lifetime voice,What a loss.
❤ I'm just 43 i love the carpenters i was shown all sorts of music by my mommy who I just lost 6 months ago im mixed race I'm so proud of you my Beautiful Blue Eyed Queen
Sorry for your loss. I was in the 2nd grade when I first heard her in the early 70's, along with the Jackson 5 and others. I was really spoiled music wise, and so was your mother. I'm glad she passed her love of this music on to you.
@@jeffconway8729 🙏🏽 thanks hunny bless your heart x
That Orchestra, along with her voice is nothing but sheer superbness
Her performance - every breath - is so perfectly controlled. The desperate search for control in other aspects of her life is what killed her, but as a performer she owned every moment.
This album is an absolute masterpiece. Richard Carpenter's lush orchestration really adds a magical touch to what was already a great collection of songs.
I was dragged to a concert in Vegas to see the Carpenters-----and it was the best concert I ever saw.
In 1973 a girlfriend insisted that I go with her to a Carpenters’ concert. I knew Karen was sensational as a singer, but I didn’t really care for their music at the time. Well the only thing that I have personally ever witnessed, that would meet the definition of sublime, was Karen Carpenter that night.
In 1974 my parents took the family to a dinner show at Lake Tahoe. I was 13 and was blown away seeing her playing the drums. We were amazingly close. It tough not to shed a tear when I watch these videos.
My God, what you just said brought a tear to my eye.
What a great music and collaboration with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Love this. Karen Carpenter's voice still the most admirable for me.
What a voice, and an fantastic orchestra, absolutly first class. Made in britain
This song always brings me back to my youth, full of passion and love of life and adventure. RIP Karen Carpenter.
The Carpenters brought calm to a very turbulent time in our country.
I for one, am VERY grateful for the very positive effect that their wonderfully powerful influence had on our country and my life.
THANK YOU, Richard and Karen!!!
Love this song.! Karen Carpenter to me is the best singer in the whole world.❤
I’m crying. It’s 2024. This song does something to the heart.
Gorgeous!!! A tribute to Karen and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Many many thanks
Thank you Richard .
Karen and her songs remain within my heart
She sings like an angel while alive and now beyond the grave, she is an angel singing in the video.
I grew up with Carpenter songs. Karen´s velvety voice was also to remain the most magical voice on the planet.
There was no one quite like her. We all miss you very much, Karen.
Her VOICE. 😩 I will never get over how beautiful it is. Every song-every TONE…every thing. It’s so….*clear*.
I know nothing about the technicalities about music. Nothing. I'm just someone listening touched by the emotion. God bless musicians.
The most beautiful voice of all time.
Absolutely !
La voz más hermosa y completa de USA
lol
mrlyu boy Yes!! Karen was & is incomparable. Heavenly!!
mrlyu boy raw talent. And she’s only about 20 years old here
I'm a black man in my 50's I grew up on the Carpenters and believe me Karen was and still is the best, such clarity in her vocals and so heart felt, really miss you Karen and I love you
Her heart her voice, I would say no more but her being able 2 sing the way she did while playing drums was just unbloody believable. I'm obsessed with Karen carpenter endof
Luther did a good version of her song!
I am an old white man. I love you!
I think She and Ella were the purest of vocalistes. Beauty!
Now, what part of Compton was that exactly? J/K
"LONELINESS IS SUCH A SAD AFFAIR" TRUE WORDS....TAKEN TO HEART !!!!!
BTW - That's Richard leading the orchestra!!! He is absolutely amazing!!!! WOW!!!
One of the best and most memorable songs of the 70’s in my humble opinion! 👍
The voice of an angel. RIP Karen, you left us way too soon and way too young.
Ted A.McElroy: Absolutely the voice of an Angel.
❤️❤️😀😘
Tragic doesn’t cover it, there are no words.

Красивая музыка, мне 71 , вспоминаю молодость, спасибо ❤❤❤🍓🍓🍓👍👍👍
No vocal gymnastics, no flourishes. Just pure, clear, rich vocals. No other vocalist even comes close...
Extraordinary
100% agree, in my opinion, her only equal would be the young Whitney Houston. A very different voice but an outstanding vocal range. Karen had a wonderful timbre and depth to her voice that, I believe, remains unsurpassed.
E. Fitzgerald and K. Carpenter no more, in the way of pureness and beauty, the perfect singers of all times.
@@lincolnengland5005 100%!!!!
Sarah Vaughan. The other songstress with perfect pitch. Such beautiful voices.
Amen. I think the only other vocalist that comes close is KD Lang.
Her voice was a gift from God
AMEN!!!💙
Coming from an MMA Fighter > THAT is High Praise! I worked with Frank Sinatra & Bob Hope & Burt Bacharach & many other Mega Stars & Mega Film Scores in L.A. > WISH I had worked with the CARPENTERS! Karen melts your Heart!
Or a God gift to us .
Damn, this lady was one fine singer!!!! A great range, warm, and smooth...
Someone get air conditioning in this hall. The conductor has sweat thru his shirt!!!!! A beautiful and well done song --- thank each and every one of YOU!!!!!
As an old on air radio DJ? I loved the brother & sisters music. Its sad in some ways looking back that Richard and Karen had their moments of feuds . I personally believe the pain the beautiful Karen carried was in several ways brought on by Richard . In any event this family duo was a very very superb group and i loved playing the list of hits the duo recorded for all of yo enjoy. Before i worked on the air in radio . Going way back to 1971? I remember living in Lakewood California and listening to ? 93 KHJ and the first Carpenter song i heard then? Was ... We've only just begun . . Im 66 now and i still to this very day love and miss the beautiful Karens voice on the airwaves . There simply isnt enough radio stations today playing the greats like this anymore. Anyway thought id share that happy holidays.
Karen's singing voice is the most beautiful in the world.
Carpenters will continue to shine!✨
The arrangement, orchestra and Karen’s voice. Amazing. Perfection.
She has the best voice, really do miss her singing. Don’t Cry for Me Argentina she done better than any singer has.
Yesterday was the 40th anniversary of Karen passing away. She really had the voice of an angel. One day when my time on the earth is up and I go to heaven I won't be surprised if the angels sound just like her.
Extraordinary Karen and great orchestral arrangement by Richard !!
Her voice is so mature, seems to have a built-in wisdom to it. Gorgeous vocal and production.
Her breath control is so amazing. Those long notes have no brakes. How she did it, only God knows.
There has never been, nor will there ever be again someone as talented and beautiful.
After all these years no singer can touch her. There you have the gift of Karen Carpenter.
I totally agree with you.
rickw1100 :: She definitely had a beautiful effortless style!! Never matched by anyone! 🎸 🎤🎸🎤🎸♥️
This will go on indefinitely. The orchestra was great. No singer qualified to stand-in for Karen Anne Carpenter on vocals. Her original "first run thru" track is incomparable.
It would almost be a sin for someone to duplicate Karen Carpenters sweet, basey, silky smooth, voice. With all due respect to her musical genius and talent, there was another vocalist that could almost cover Karen's songs, save for that she was playing hard rock, instead of soft rock. Heart's Ann Wilson's voice in this era was very dynamic and hand incredible range, too. Again, different genres of music, but I would still say Karen has a definite edge in base. Yet, Heart was playing to a different audience with different expectations.
rickw1100 I respectfully disagree. Judith Durham is definitely up there with her.
The clarity in every word she sings is outstanding. There'll never be another voice like Karen Carpenters.❤
A voice like no other.
@@scottshamblin5743 Exactly. No other singer has come close to her uniqueness.
Agree! Outstanding voice of an Angel! She makes me cry every time! 2/4/22
♥️❤️❤️
you can say that adainagin
An orchestra playing for a pop song... And such quality arranging and performance. And of course, The Carpenters? That alto voice of Karen's and Richards arrangements and backup vocals. Delicious. This is music that has withstood the test of time. Still great after 50+ years.
Karen Carpenter es un Ángel del Señor.
Kudos to the Royal Philharmonic and Karen's singular vocals . Both are equally spectacular and complement each other in their respective mastery!!! Needless to say, there will always be only one Karen!!!
The best voice EVER
SO darn good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...................................... Thanks to ALL.....
Wonderful orchestration and I so miss her voice and just her. And the music will always last
It's not just her voice. It's the emotion injected into the performance.
AlmostBipedal yes, but that IS her voice
I am a guitarist of 59 years. I always say that good music is made of contrast and feeling. Karen sure had the feeling ...
Very eerie, unique and one of a kind
She had heart. Karen Carpenter sang with heart ❤️. Carole King is the same... she sings with heart.
Who's cutting onions?!
I’ve been so blessed to have grown up listening to the Carpenters, what a great library of music they’ve blessed the world with and 1971’s Superstar was a song that really showcased Karen Carpenters range of emotion in her singing, I would have to say Superstar is my all time favorite Carpenters song. Karen Carpenter you are forever missed!!
What a beautiful gift from Karen and Richard Carpenter.
What a voice to this date she still gives me chills, gone too early!
Oh my. My favorite Carpenters song, with Karen at her peak, vocally. This remix with orchestra brought tears to my eyes. The song is moving enough, but to see an orchestra actually play and to hear a few extra instrumental additions in the second verse just takes this song to a completely different level. Rest in peace, Karen. Your voice will live forever in the music you and Richard recorded.
Absolutely!*!! Perfection …. 🎼🎶🎤🎹🎸🥁🎻🥰❤️💞💖💖💕
una voz maravillosa dulce espero no equivocarme, quizás de la historia
@@janetdavies9612 well said
Please remember that this was written by the great Leon Russell.
This is her brother directing the Royal Philharmonic here.
One of the most hauntingly beautiful songs ever made.
Written by Leon Russell..
...as only Karen could deliver. Perfection!
my favourites of Karen's renditions are all the Leon Russell songs. Suit her perfectly.
Also known as The Groupie Song.
The original version was "And I can hardly wait to sleep with you again..."
Her voice was like a bird in heaven
Nobody could deliver a melancholy love song like KC.
Karen Carpenter was/is the most accurate singer I've heard...!!! Her voice was/is a blessing for the sences...!!! Just perfectly awesome...!!!
Beautiful arrangement by Richard Carpenter
No one could have sung this like Karen-so missed
Her voice is amazing. She sung with so much passion in her voice. This video was almost to the end before I realized that the conductor is Richard Carpenter. Any else missed this?
Oh, HELL no!
That’s his brother Richard directing. Beautiful! 💐
A voice from HEAVEN. Damn this woman could sing. And what an arrangement. Bravo Richard!!!! DAMN this is good!!!!!!...
This song and arrangement are SO beautiful, I had to come back for a repeat. I love it... I pray that Karen is at peace now! EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Priceless treasure....first musician I expect to perform when I reach heaven. Made it heaven on Earth....brother and sister....team...impressive.
Love you, Karen, wherever you are! And thank you for this gift❤🙏🏼
People who know, know. The world at large though just doesn't give Richard his due. Her voice is angelic, Richard used that voice to make magic with his arrangements. He was the genius behind these great recordings. RIP Karen.
Richard Carpenter's arrangements were just as much a key to their success as Karen Carpenter's velvety voice. A perfect pairing.
Richard without Karen is exactly like Karen without Richard. A match made in heaven they were!
Karen had that Once in a Lifetime voice... so rare... so Incredibly Special! 💖 One word... SUPERSTAR!

She was a "singer's singer". Perfection.
Frank Sinatra (The Voice) said the ONLY singer he would ever pay to listen to was Karen Carpenter. Pretty High Praise!

Thanks for sharing. The Voice should know.
Mr. Sinatra had good taste.
even john lennon and sir paul mcartney praises karens voice.
Randy Sanchez who wouldn’t? She seemed so humble about it too. Very charming. Katen and Richard both.
The most fantastic female voice that i have ever heard. So pure. No one has ever come close to her voice. I was devestated when she passed away. Her singing will live on forever.
Karen was good, very good indeed but Lucy Thomas at age 15.....Listen to Starlight, Suddenly and somewhere...Lucy is my nr. 1
@@hakonfinsland6866 Thanks for the 'tip' on Lucy Thomas - and her sister Martha - absolutely beautiful. Karen Carpenter is still my #1, and likely always will be, but Lucy has a brilliant future.
And the worst part of it is that she basically,at a physcological level killed herself because she didn't think she was good enough when she was actually far too good for this world
The best......when music was really music. My 27 year old niece died a year ago......of the same thing.....had a pace maker since she was 5. She received the first coved shot....2 days later.....she died
Pls don't forget Barbara Streisand or Whitney Houston or Ella Fitzgerald.
