  • Do you know the proper name for this type of fitting? So many terms are used in the Automotive industry from plugs to dust covers ETC....
Made these on the lathe because I had no fittings to seal the lines on a Chevy 700R transmission. I used o-rings in conjunction to keep out dirt and water out as I power washed the transmission for rebuilding and selling. It didn't take much time at all to make these, brass is easy to machine, even with not so good cutting bits.
I know I could have plugged up the lines with other materials but why take the chance?
I started up a facebook for this channel, if you wanna check that out I would appreciate it, there will be extra content on there.

Kool, hey Ray what oil do you use ? (for cooling the materiel) i have been using 10w30 for drilling but it doesn't seem to work that well

I use mobile one way oil sometimes but others I will use 30w non-detergent oil that's used on air compressors. Cutting fluid is suppose to work also along with bacon grease. Sometimes drill bits are shit altogether, the decent stuff I have is from Irwin and Hitachi with the Tin coating. Brass is soft on its own and doesn't really need cooling but I guess it's habit by now. Have you tried those used bits and did you get any good results?

Bacon grease I have lots of that buddy lmao (my favorite food) I agree with drill bits being shit, I bought a set of 550 bits they get dull before i can get 1/8" deep , no I have not tried the used bits, I'm returning them and if you don't mind I'll probably need some help on what each one doe's when I get new ones
