Why do Americans in horror movies/stories get so close to getting away, only to decide to have some sort of neanderthal relationship/nookie based conversation. It just wastes good escaping time. The other thing, is to stop dead after the monster disappears, looks dead. Even worse, they get just the other side of the door/forest/cave, and stop dead in relief. All those actions lead to instant dedding. Me? I’m not daft to be there in the first place, and if I was, for some reason there, I wouldn’t stop running until I reached the next Country. I’d probably be pushing the elderly and small children in the path of danger as I went.😇
Future storytellers , In a short story , It interrupts the flow when you announce chapter 1, chapter 2, et cetera. There's no reason to do this unless you are changing characters,
