- I found this impact driver from Japan recycle shop without a battery. It looks very old, but I believe that it will work after the restoration. I rebuild new battery with lithium cells 18650 and BMS 3S20A. It's designed to be different from the impact driver I've ever had, It's a little tricky to get it in pieces. You can see it in detail in the video. The problems with this tool are dirty, old grease, old paint, no battery, and no charger.

The old Makita tools were really well built their only real weak point was those crappy Ni-Cad batteries. Because of your very excellent videos I have been cleaning up and rebuilding all of my old cordless tools and repowering them with modern lithium batteries. I find this to be just as satisfying as watching your videos, thank you sir.
I'm so happy to hear that, thank you!
I hope that one day they will make them as sturdy as they did back in the day. But obviously with a brushless motor
Love the top to a turntable being used as a plastic container for cleaning stuff. Nothing like recycling
I totally agree!
It's nice that you show that sometimes something is not working properly and show symptoms of faulty work and what needs to be checked.
I'm so glad this help you, thank you!
Thank you for all this creativity and the great benefit that we enjoyed. Could you please include during the video shooting the names of the chemicals and other substances that you use in your work so that we can understand them and benefit more 😍🙏
Okay, I will tell the names of the chemicals for the next video. Thank you for letting me know!
Bende katılıyorum sonuna kadar.
Wow that think almost looks new again 👍

Fantastic restoration, very technical! Thanks for sharing :)
Those impact power tools are amazing little tools. They look simple but back a huge amount of torque. And they are so small for that amount of torque they have as well. Nice refurbishing project. Thumbs Up
Yes they are! Thank you very much!
I would love to hear some lowfi beats.
But I allways enjoy the videos, man
cheers from Brazil!

Excelente trabalho!

You're welcome, I'm glad to hear that.
You are on the next level Mate !
Thank you!
I have two of these exact same drivers. Not all rusted up. But well worn. Batteries were getting expensive. So I gutted a battery. Ran wires through it. (20 foot "zip" type extension cord.) And ran it off of a 12v battery made for a garden tractor.
Battery, cord and driver all store in a squarish plastic cat litter bucket. The bucket makes it easy to carry the battery around wherever you go. And the length of the cord gives plenty of work area before you have to move the battery. (You could even make a carrier that would hang the small garden tractor battery from your belt.)
It made a huge amount of torque compared to the factory batteries, and one charge on the battery lasted for an entire shed build. (Used all screws, no nails.)
Unfortunately, I got one of them wired backward and burned up something inside the driver. No idea if I could even find those parts again.
This same sort of setup will run an 18v drill/driver as well. It runs slower, but has a lot more torque than the factory 18v battery. And again, one charge lasts forever.
Seems counter-intuitive to put a cod on a cordless drill/driver. But makes sense if you can't afford to keep buying new batteries for it. Plus because it is still a small battery, you aren't limited as much as you might think. Plus all that extra torque, and not having to change batteries out, all day long.
Enjoyed that. Thank you
Good job 👍
Top service. From Brazil

Incredible craftsmanship as always! Glad to see you using the hot water again! Also, wet flattening the primer is always a good idea. Thank you sir for you terrific videos ☺️
I have a question, what is the name of the Japanese site you use to buy these old tools? Thank you again.
I bought those Japan tools from Japan recycle shop in my country.
Great job
Thank you!
Good job as always. You are the best :-)
Thank you for choosing this video!
@@gear_show i always watch what you do. I'd like to fix battery's and stuff like you do :-)
Good job bro 👍👍👍
Thank you so much 😀
You only need protection rings on the positive side of cells; the negative doesn't carry the risk of a short to the outer shell, so you can omit them.
It would sure be nice to know what you sprayed on the plastic parts. Was that some sort of clearcoat or something special for rejuvenating plastic
It is a flat clear spray.
@@gear_show mate or gloss?

Hey, another great video. Can you please tell me the camera you use for filming? the quality is very nice!
Excellent job i thought armature was the problem at the first second but you find out the problem like you always do
I have a problem is there anyway to assemble the battery except welding device?
What kind of battery you want to assemble?
hadir saudaraku pengiriman paket telah tiba.biar pun lain hobi tetapi
video saudara sangat menghibur sekali lanjut mantap. salam sehat selalu.
I love your content :-) I would like to know though where you get the Makita battery sleeves or kit, I could use them myself
I'm glad to hear that, I bought Makita kit via this item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=600224439262
Verry good
Thank you!
sorry for irrelevant question to the video...
is there any way to charge Milwaukee m18 battery without having any official m18 charger?...

Please make a video with rebuilding common old 12 14 and 18V batteries. Will they work with original charger?
No, it won't work with the original charger.
Master, I have two questions.
How many years have you been dealing with drill reconditioning?
What is the approximate USD price of this refurbished drill?
Hello Pathfinder 1963
I have been dealing with drill around 2 years.
I can sell a drill for $50.

Can you tell me how I can make a charger for the battery
What are the greas parameters you use?
What is that powder that you use? Laundry detergent?
Master
I wrote a long comment that may be commercial ideas, it has not been published now I am writing a short one
1-You can also find cheap parts and non-working drills on auction sites and buy them.
2-In some regions, for example, carpenters and furniture manufacturers' shops are concentrated. You can easily find battery conversion jobs here.
3-You can get the authorized repair service of the big sellers of the big drill manufacturer brands (Dozens of videos on your youtube channel and more than 550K subscribers are more than enough for your reference)
4-You can try new LiFePO batteries in the process of renewing electric wheelchair and car batteries.
When your business increases, don't quit sharing videos on youtube.😀
I'm really appreciate with your sharing with me. It is excellent business idea, again thank you!
Great! Where do you get so many old tools???
Hello, good morning, engineer
Excuse me, my cordless drill has locked all three systems and the drill inside is broken
How do I drill and fix three systems?
My channel only has 600 subs so you are the master but do you think the 20Amp BMS is good enough for the drill. 20A BMS does not work well for me. The wires for BMS look a little thin as each must carry maximum 18650 current which can be quite high.
You should check the battery cell discharge rated. I think this BMS is good enough for this drill.
great job 👍👍👍..I want to know what is the brand of battery cell, you use..?
You can find it in the description. Thank you!
@@gear_show okay thank you so much
