This is update on the videos for 2024 and what Mr. Miyagi has been doing. Also the 4x4 trip to El Camino El Diablo , working on the Delica and what the viewer's may want for 2024.
Hey there from British Columbia! Came across your latest video yesterday, thanks to CZcams's recommendation, and I must say, your content is interesting! It's a bummer about your Delica suddenly breaking down. Typically, issues with valve seats and valves on the 4M40 stem from valve clearance going out of specifications, overheating, or insufficient lubrication. This becomes particularly critical when the valve fails to close completely. Given that the 4M40 lacks hydraulic valve lifters (old school technology), it necessitates regular valve clearance checks and adjustments, if required, using shims. For optimal performance, remember to keep the valve clearance within the specified limits when cold: 0.2 mm for intake and 0.3 mm for exhaust. I personally make it a point to check and adjust valve clearance every 50,000 km (30,000 miles) to ensure everything runs smoothly. Keep up the great work with your videos! Delica is awesome vehicle, especially diesel ones) I have two of them!
Hey thanks, well, I guess I'll add that to my maintenance list too. I'm still learning about these vehicles but I'm enjoying the hell out of it. Just got the new head and will be installing it today. Thanks again.
Hello mister.. we are planning yet another go at Bonneville this august with our 2 xs650’s.. we’ve been rained out for two years and we’re REALLY hoping for a good shot. The bikes will be primed, and IF you felt like taking a detour through NW Utah on your way to Sturgis, you’d have a solid camp experience with decent American folks who are trying to do something wild with the XS platform. Sure hope ya consider swinging past! Plenty of content for yer channel and some good old fashioned adventure for your soul! Please get at us and we’d be happy to accommodate ya. 🏁
If we sell our castle Mrs Miyagi ask where would we live. I'm just taking a break. I'll doing a video of off road games in Hurricane, Utah. Now I'll be doing something for the shovelhead like the oil pump and a few other things. But thanks for watching and letting me know you want more!
Thanks for the update and road trip images. I get the running out of ideas thing. Personally I’m going to always enjoy the motorcycle stuff and especially the xs 650. By the way, what’s with the left hand steering on the all terrain vehicle? Englishman?
The Delica is a right hand side drive love it. It's been a great off-road vehicle. Englishman has got some plans for his 98 Ranger LX 4x4 , 3" lift, diy front bumper with winch plus rebuild the complete front end. Now I've some ideas about an XS650 build but I'll have come up with another old XS650. Hey, thanks for watching.
Wish I had a video for ya ? My 1979 xs 650 still shifts terrible. The clutch slips when riding it cold for about 5 miles then after 15 miles of rideing shifting is very hard. Any idea's?
@@outlaw86custom New clutch plates, new clutch cable, new clutch push lever assembly, fresh 20w 40w oil. No improvement ! The motor was rebuilt 12 years ago by Hugh's Hand Built and has only been ridden about 5,000 miles. I bought if from the guy who had the motor rebuilt. I though it would not be a problem to fix. I was so wrong.

Clutch plates could be worn-out or your clutch adjustment is off.
