- The first Dragon's Dogma was a wonderfully unique RPG back in 2012, but it was held back by technical limitations that prevented Director Hideaki Itsuno from realizing his true vision for the project. Find out how things have changed now with the upcoming Dragon's Dogma 2.

If you have the money then yes but if youre not sure about it then try dragons dogma dark arisen its usually pretty cheap and itll let you know if youre going to like the second one just keep in mind that the first one is not perfect but it definitely is great

This man literally carved up a mechanic to call his own, that’s what makes his creativity come true is to believe in something for over TWO DECADES! Man, that is passion and dedication right there!
Hideaki itsuno is the goat of action games , this man puts gameplay and smooth controls over anything else , support this man's work if you wanna see great games.
I'm proud of you, too, Itsuno.
Bless you for not giving up on this series. This sequel is gonna be something special.
Haven't played the original, but eagerly awaiting the launch of the sequel. The gameplay looks outstanding, and Itsuno's enthusiasm here for what he and his team has worked on has me sold! Honestly had me grinning throughout the whole video.

Lovely to see Dragons Dogma 2 getting a chance after the first game got its budget horribly cut.
It’s a shame when it’s main competitor Skyrim had nearly 4 times the budget dd1 had this time round tho the budget for dd2 equals that of larger games like Skyrim and since it’s taken way longer to make it should be amazing when it comes out
Dragon's Dogma sold poorly in 2012 and was largely ignored in 2013 due to gamer apathy.
It wasn't even because there was a "better game" because there was no other game as best as Dragon's Dogma... aka the other game was just corporate hype and biased reviews and coverage.

Kinda wish the game did have co op, especially since it seems like its very possible. It feels like it's 90% of the way there with the party system and the online interaction for recruiting player created pawns. But listening to this interview and hearing the directors passion talking about the game, and his past experience playing online games with his friends, its clear that it is an artistic decision to exclude co op, and it very much seems, like how he said, that with how fleshed out the pawn system is, it will feel like you're playing with a group of friends, even though you're playing solo. Can't wait for DD2, its looking great.

honestly it is refreshing to see some japanese publishers like SE and Capcom go back to their roots and what made them successful with these beautiful jrpgs (rebirth and DD2) in this day and age

After Capcom fumbled with the development of Dragon's Dogma back in 2012 by not letting Itsuno go all out, the man decided he wasn't going to be denied anymore.
He got his second chance at DD, a thing Nomura has been salty about at Square since they denied his vision of Versus XIII. Still, Nomura is trying to make that through Kingdom Hearts.
He didn't decide anything lol. Capcom shareholders gave him permission. You don't understand how business works. 😂

@@Leiurusgrey Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. Probably the greatest game expansion released in the last ten to twenty years. The writing in that blows away Baldur's Gate 3 too and makes BG3's dialogue scenes look like a 2007 Bioware game.

Team Ninja and Koei have been very secretive about Rise of Ronin and it worries me. We've barely have seen anything meaningful about that game and it launches at the same day as DD2.
Idk if it's that they are confident on their first true open world game, or if it's half backed, or if they will do their marketing push just after something like FF7 Rebirth launches.

Guys do we know if there is a manual save in game? I'm afraid to miss some quest or to fail some escort mission etc... in the first game there was some missing things.
It might have it because there’s a system tab in the menu showing up in couple gameplay vids

multiple save , no / just being able to save, yes.
the first you need to replay the game anyway cuz some quests have multiple outcomes and the game would save automatically after completing a quest.

That because only 40% of the game made it to the finish product. This time around, Capcom allows Itsuno to make the game he always wanted. Hence, why it still in the same locations or same region as the first game. Not a true sequel by any means.
