Beckley Creek Park Trail Guide: Coppiced Woods Trail

- Angell and I began our series on the Parklands of Floyds Fork by hiking the Coppiced Woods Trail in Beckley Creek Park.
The trail is rated as “More Difficult” by the park, but anyone who has spent much time in the woods will have no trouble with the trail, which covers a variety of terrain, including nice overlooks of the Louisville Loop and Beckley Creek.
Please note that the trail is multi-use, meaning hikers, joggers and mountain bikers are on the trail at the same time. Please make way for cyclists and hikers/runners moving uphill.
Enjoy this beautiful trail, and share your impressions in the comments section. We’d love to hear from you.
Directions to the trailhead:
1. Take exit 27 on the Gene Snyder, and head east on U.S. 60/Shelbyville Road
2. Follow Shelbyville Road two miles, until you reach Beckley Creek Park
3. Turn right onto Blue Heron Road/Beckley Creek Parkway
4. Follow Blue Heron Road for .6 miles, then turn left into the parking lot for the trailhead to the Coppiced Woods Trail, which is marked by a prominent sign.
***NOTE: The parking lot for this trailhead only has a few spots. If it is full, park across the street in the parking lot for the North Beckley Paddling Access

Looks like you enjoyed a good hike. I've got to get out hiking more in the winter.
Roamancing Travel - Thanks for the comment. It's been a great winter for hiking in the Ohio Valley. Today, it'll be in the low 60's! Gonna get a hike in. Look for a video next Friday.
That I shall. Enjoy your hike!
