    Dear Norman,
    I noticed from yr latest video that u hv got a replacement ECM hoping to fix the idling issue. Please also check the STVA secondary throttle valve actuator, the secondary throttle valve sensor and the throttle position sensor again.
    There are many videos on you tube showing how to check the above. The sensors hv a wiper on them which moves on a resistance coating so they need to be checked with a multimeter while moving the butterflies or rolling the throttle. The resistance should vary in a linear fashion. Also sometimes the STVA actuator gearing sticks and needs to opened and lubed. Pls search Suzuki GSXR videos with similar issues. The race bike has similar sensors as the boulevard.

My troubleshooting led me to find out I keep blowing the fuel 10A fuse, the fuel pump comes on for about 1 sec and then the fuse blows - do you think its the fuel pump or what can you tell me thx , any recommendations?

    • @2001himax

      Two things I would try first. Is there a code that comes up ? That might tell where the problem is at. Another thing is you could look in the book and see where the fuel pump gets it power from. Disconnect it and turn the bike on with a new fuse in. If it does not blow out then nothing else is hooked up with it and that shows the problem is most likely the pump. Hope this helps.

      Hi Wade, I got my service manual from E-Bay. You have the f1 light on so you need to bring up the code . There are videos on how to do this on You-Tube. Once you find the code the book show all codes and the problem with each one. Like when a car has the engine light come on that only shows it has a problem. To find the problem you have to use a scanner to find the code and find what is wrong. Now with the C50 you can use a small piece of wire to jump across two wires to bring up the code. On You-Tube put in (How to get the code on the C50.)

    The symptoms you describe really do sound like TPS out of adjustment. When making adjustments the smallest movement will have a big effect. However, Throttle position sensor may be worn out. If it is you can't adjust it. You have to renew it. I assume you have checked all four plugs and leads. Oh! AND by the way I really do like your video style. Have you synchronized the throttle boddies?

    • @2001himax

      @brockett Před 4 lety

      @@2001himax Hello Norman, I have a K7 VZ800. My manual suggests the Throttle Body Synchronization procedure come before the TPS. I have never done either (YET). However I did have a Yamaha BT1100 which had a version of the Drag Star engine. I used a two column "Morgan carb tune" guage and I did not need a rev counter as I set the throttle stop by ear ... and after synchronisation I set the idle speed by the other ear. Although it had carburetters the Synchronization of throttle boddies was the same sort of process. I don't think you need to buy a Suzuki vacuum guage kit ( probably an arm and a leg) as any guage set will do as long as you can get the hoses to fit. If it turns out that the problem is not synchronization then ... welll. it one more thing that it isn't. Good luck and take care in these uncertain times and keep us posted please.

      On you-tube put in "How to read the code on the Suzuki Boulevard". I have a dealer switch but you can use a small piece of wire to do this and a dealer code will come up. Look this code in the Clymer book and it may show what is wrong. Mine came up (C40) and I am still trying to find an answer. A few of my last videos show working on this problem. If you didn't have this problem before you worked on the tank make all the fuel hoses are on tight. To read codes turn the key on then put the jumper wire on and the code will come up. If you put the jumper wire on first then turn the key on it will clear the codes. Try clearing the code first. It's the easiest thing to try. Norman

    Hello

    • @2001himax
      @2001himax  Před 2 lety

      Something is pulling power. Was anything added to the bike like extra lights, Power point for a GPS, or power for a phone? If so disconnect them and see if the battery is still draining . If not you can try to find the trouble by looking at the wiring harness. Find where the back end of the
      wiring is plugged in for the tail light and turn signals. Unplug it and see if the battery drains. If it drains leave it unplugged and move to the inside of the headlight. Unplug wiring there and see if it drains. What you will be doing is separating sections to narrow down to what part is draining the battery. AS you go over the wiring look for any place the wiring is rubbing and causing a short. Al so check the kick stand wire on the safety switch. Unplug it. Check all the fuses. This will take time to unplug sections and wait to see if the battery drains. This is what I would try first. All so unplug the dash. As you unplug anything I would put some bright colored tape on it so when you are done you will see what to plug back in. Hope this helps you. It's worth a try. Does the battery drain as you run the bike or drain just sitting?. Put a volt meter on the battery it should show around 12.4 volts. Start the bike . It should show around 14 volts while running. If not then the stator is bad. Check the voltage on the battery with the bike off then running first. Norman.

      Hi Pat, I would jack the back wheel up off the ground then turn the wheel in the direction it would go as if riding it. Listen for the sound. If you hear it place one end of a wooden dowel rod on the hub and put your ear on the other end. Now turn the wheel and move the dowel around to different places on the hub and wheel to locate where the noise is coming from. You will probably have to remove the rear wheel to see if any rub marks can be found. If you turn the wheel and hear no sound you may have to have the weight of the bike on the wheel. Push the bike back and forth on the ground to see if the sound can be heard. One other thing to check is check the oil level in the final drive. Oil should be up to the bottom of the filler plug. This is a start. Let me know if this is any help. I would not ride till this problem is solved. Norman

      Hi Tabitha, The coolant temperature sensor on my 2012 is at the top of the radiator. The sensor towards the bottom is the fan switch. You will be changing the top one. It may be easier to remove the fuel tank to get to it. I would put some high temp. gasket maker on the threads of the new one. With the tank off you can check the level of the coolant that should be a little lower than the filler top, say around 1/2 inch. to 1 inch. I would also change the coolant while you have the tank off. I use 50/50 mix that is all ready mixed and can be use in any color coolant. Not a hard job, just take some time. Also clean the plastic expansion on the right side of the bike and put new coolant back in. That should do it. Norman.
