      Thanks for the Video clip! Forgive me for the intrusion, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you thought about - Riddleagan Smart Hands Remedy (probably on Google)? It is a smashing one of a kind product for learning piano fast minus the headache. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my buddy got excellent success with it.

    The concept of shaping the direction of melodic phrases around the voice leading of the harmony is one of the most useful things I have ever heard! Thank you dude

      When you put it like that it seems an obvious thing to do. But it's not obvious until someone says it! :)

    Since I commented last.. I have some of Donna Lee down. I have been working on getting all the dominant dim scales down. I've noticed that I can play along with you even when We are not in the same chord as you are. Great video..subscribed an while back

      As I said working on the diminished scales. There is a lot of confusion on the diminished scales. After reading quite a few post, here is a common sense approach. I'll work in C diminished. (C Eb Gb A); as this is just stacked minor thirds If I think in terms of C, only the whole will give us the diminished scale. (C D Eb F Gb Ab
      A B C) There are several things I see here..this is eight notes, not counting the root twice ..which is a must. I notice that the C dim
      Is C Eb Gb..but C Dim7 is there too. (C Eb Gb A)..
      So I notice also that the C dim scale first 3 notes are the first 3 notes of the natural minor scale..C D Eb.. now going from Eb, Eb F Gb ..now going up from Gb,. Gb Ab A ,. Now ditto..A B C.. Everything fits . Over lapping D dim 7 over the C dim 7..which is just a whole step up gives us the C dim scale . ..this is one way I test things .eg the major C scale CDEFGABC.. Dmin 7 ( D E F A) over C majj 7 (C E G B).. Put the collection of pitches together we have the C major scale. .So I apply this to the dim scale. This works on Dom dim scale also.

    I started working on confirmation awhile back..it's a real challenge, but so is Donna Lee...not mastered but getting there. I like to improv over the D Blues scale which is a minor third down from the F on the 1 chord. A year ago or so, I was revisiting Georgia on my mind. I was playing F Blues over the song. The song starts out Fmaj7 Emin7b5 A7b9 ..well any ways Hoagy seemed to be using the standard progressions and I notice that D Blues is used as the basicmelody and licks naturally come
    from the D Blues. I listened to the Dr on house play ii.(HughLLaurie),
    and I hear D Blues..I'll.be on the keys today, but tomorrow planning to work on woodworking..

      Jacob Dupre Absolutely interested in midi files, I teach myself how to play by reverse engineering midi files a note at a time. (I’m mostly a guitar guy, but with the advent of Eurorack, I’ve been switching my allegiance).

    • @PIANOSTYLE100
      @PIANOSTYLE100 Před 5 lety +1

      That is definitely the way to go. I use two music midi editors. Maestro and Score Creator.
      I love collecting and making my own midi files. It's also a great way to learn difficult pieces.
