    If our Military budget was like that of the United States Military which is nearing a Trillion, you'd see some badass weapons, night vision goggles, top notch camouflage wear. But none the less we still get the job done

      @@jaxonwright2243 of course it isn’t, it isn’t an army that people are forced to join , it isn’t an army that segregates its troops and it isn’t an army ment to oppress the people of its country p.

    • @jaxonwright2243
      @jaxonwright2243 Před 3 lety +1

      @Jared...that's nice.
      Unfortunately it takes more than that to be effective.

    • @jaredkruger9750
      @jaredkruger9750 Před 3 lety +2

      @@jaxonwright2243 well yes but it has its benefits over the old army. Since the people who are there aren’t forced to be there they will be more willing to fight. Because the army doesn’t segregate its troops it allows it to make more co-ordinated and effective attacks, since they don’t have to oppress their population they can use more assets to fight the real enemy. Oh and theres the big plus of having the ability to procure foreign equipment. Not to forget that the new army combined all the armed forces in South Africa each of which brought new tactics and experiences to the army. The SANDF has shown us that it is very effective when they fought rebels in CAR where they were outnumbered 200 troops to 3000 for the loss of only 14 of ours and 753 confirmed kills of theirs. Or in the DRC where our troops were the most decorated troops by the UN when fighting the M23 rebels.

    i am a south african and i always wanted to be in the south african army. i thought our army is now shit, but i still feel that my army has something special. the only problem is that they don't pick the good guys who has done well in their training. the training is brutal.

    • @LiquidNation100
      @LiquidNation100 Před 6 lety +4

      The main problem with the defense force is a declining budget with means the maintenance and upgrading of equipment is not what it should be. However, training is still of the highest quality.

      @epe520 Před 5 lety +2

    • @jaredkruger9750
      @jaredkruger9750 Před 3 lety +1

      @@epe520 they get promoted and as such they dont have senior officers who tell them to take a jog. The lack of funding in our military has caused a lack of new recruits being trained and too many high ranking officials who suck up all the budget with their salaries. The training is very good, you can look at all the young guys and lower ranking guys they are in good shape. But anyway i guess that is what happens when you have the unions run the country and not the government...
