    nice boat!!!! don't listen to the negative people.. you can do this! 4 years ago i also bought a catamaran everybody said was garbage. now they all wish they owned her. the best part is that by the time you finish her you will be one with that boat. you will know every square inch of her. keep going and don't give up. but be a little nicer to her. boats are girls and need to be treated tenderly and with care. give her love and she will give you love back. good luck

    The mast is probably in ok shape even after falling. The shrouds (on sides) and stay (forward) along with their turnbuckles are probably corroded and will need to be replaced as they are what hold up the mast and resist wind pressure. Count on getting 304/316 SS wire cable and doing the work yourself. There is a simple formula for the amount of tension put on stays and shrouds- google it.
    Front crossbeam, forward bulkhead and aft bulkhead need to be looked at/inspected as these are the 3 components that keep the 2 hulls stiff. The forward bulkhead resists the considerable downward pressure from the mast. You'll be needing some epoxy and fiberglass- look for brands other than West for budget sake, and there are online sites for fiberglass cloth.
    As far as propulsion consider outboards with drop down motor brackets. If this uses inboard engine with transmission- diesel is best but expensive. For a very inexpensive inboard replacement take a look at fellow youtuber Tuck and Lillibet who used a $350 13 hp air cooled Harbor Freight gas engine for their 30' sailboat.
    Good luck...

    I feel bad for you but a few people gave you good advice Spend no more money and learn you seem like a nice guy that got taken. Save your money and take time to learn some thing about Boats, plywood, fiberglass and motors. And then look for some thing that you think might work, AND THEN ASK A SURVEYOR TO LOOK. Then if it fits your budget go for it. That boat might have been workable if you had planed to just make it an outboard, but with the condition of the plywood and fiberglass the structure is not there.

  • @lo2740
    @lo2740 Před měsícem

    such unwise idea, even a super condition boat is a pit of money, and usually not wrth any invest, but this is not a boat anymore and even free it is not a gift. In fact, if you picked it up for free you would still have made a very big gift to the "owner". Drop this asap, it belongs to scrap, at least did not lost much yet.

    Dropping/ raising masts, not difficult.
    The side stays need to be slightly lose.
    The trick is that they need a pivot point in line with the pivot point on the mast base. This can be done by making up temporary short fore / aft stays to the main side stay at this point. If you are making new stays, include a junction at this point.
