Look at this movie and check out the fight scenes of the latest Jason Bourne or alike, the fighting here looks slow, but you see every move made, I love that. New flicks these days skip frames and make it look like its 3x the speed, you cannot enjoy the martial arts kicks and alike.
Say what you will about the movie as a whole (it's either the 2nd or 3rd worst movie in the series depending on how many points some gratuitous nude scenes will score in your book), this fight scene is the perfect blend of comedy and action. It's purposefully unrealistic to add to the comedy factor, and yes, Sasha Mitchell is basically a glorified soap opera star who happens to be a solid kickboxer, he's no Van Damme, but he gets the job done. Nobody watches these movies expecting an Oscar-worthy performance. P.S. - The entire bar is like a time capsule to the way things were when I was starting high school, from the "Nothing Beats A Bud" ad campaign for Budweiser and the original Pepsi can logo to the plaid shirts (Grunge was on its way out by the 2nd half of 1994, but principle photography for this probably happened in '93). Even the outfits these guys are wearing just screams mid-90s.

Sounds like you got into a fight with somebody with a yellow belt in Tae Kwon Do (i.e. somebody who trained for maybe a couple months), most kickboxers with any level of basic training know not to try a spin kick in a street fight. Either a front or a side kick is the preferred method for hitting someone from a distance. Generally the purpose of a spinning kick is to finish off a dazed opponent, you can build up a lot of force for a knockout blow using a spin kick, but it’s easily countered if your opponent is still fresh.

4 wasn't bad, I go back and forth between whether 3 or 4 was the weakest of the first 4. The fact that Xian didn't come back in this one and they got an Tunisian with a Belgian accent to play Tong Po made this one kind of lame at times, but the main villain in 3 was also way over the top. They definitely dropped the ball on Kickboxer 5, it lost all of the original story continuity and the lead actor was extremely weak.
Her character definitely has some pride issues, some people are so headstrong that they take it as an insult if you try to help them, even if it's evening the odds in a clearly unfair fight. She does grow a bit by the end of the movie.
Sasha The Code Man Mitchell he was not the best martial artist by no means but i still miss him and love to watch him fight and i have kickboxer 1-4 on dvd i liked watching him on the tv show step by step also.

They actually made 5 of them, the first one is the only one that was well made and can be considered a classic. The 2nd one wasn't too bad, but it definitely had that early 90s B-cinema quality that you encountered with films of that time (think Don "The Dragon" Wilson's Bloodfist movies). The 3rd and 4th one were entertaining and had some solid fight scenes, but you could tell the quality was going down both in terms of acting and storyline. The 5th one is completely unwatchable.
