Martial Artists RECREATE CQC from Metal Gear Solid V | Experts Try

- After reacting to CQC animations from Metal Gear Solid 5, Noah and Gemma are here to test things out for themselves. And since Noah is such a huge fan of the franchise, especially the cinematics, not only are they going to recreate a bunch of takedown animations, but they're also recreating a few cutscenes that have some juicy CQC action.
From Liquid Snake's knife tricks to Quiet's scorpion kick, they try to stick as close to the gameplay as possible, even if it makes them try out moves they never imagined doing before.
Even their cameraman Ted makes his first appearance, giving his advice on the importance of camerawork in action scenes. So buckle your judo belt and dive into another exciting episode of Experts Try.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is a stealth game in which players take the role of Punished "Venom" Snake from a third-person perspective in an open world.
The gameplay elements were largely unchanged from Ground Zeroes, meaning that players will have to sneak from several points in the game world, avoiding enemy guards, and remaining undetected. Included in Snake's repertoire are binoculars, maps, a variety of weapons, explosives, and stealth-based items such as cardboard boxes and decoys.
Following one of the series traditions, The Phantom Pain encourages players to progress through the game without killing, using non-lethal weapons such as tranquilizer darts to subdue enemies. Players may traverse the game world with vehicles such as jeeps and tanks, in addition to traveling on foot or on horseback, and as certain locations are mountainous, occasionally, players can opt to go rock climbing as a shortcut. They may call for helicopter support against enemy soldiers or request airstrikes that can bomb the target area or change the current weather.

Martial artist recreate moves from the Yakuza games and splinter cell blacklist
That would be cool
I don't think they can get away with reenacting Yakuza moves because half of them are basically kill-moves. If they recreate Yakuza someone's gonna get powerbombed into a broken neck
I'd like to see Tiger Drop
@@TehHAuxaRs what do you mean "kill moves"?
Kiryu and Majima never killed anyone
Or Sleeping Dogs to
TEDDY: "ISN'T PAID TO BE HERE" Lmao please pay this man some money
That cracked me up lol
MGS V has an adaptive AI, meaning if you're always going stealth, they'll start placing claymores around the mission area. If you always go for headshots, they'll start wearing armored helmets. It's actually an awesome game mechanic.
I mean, it's not like the helmets help much. I'm the kind of player who kills any enemies they can't tranq in time.
@@Gamer88334 you could also just shoot the tranq into their face, where the helmet doesn't protect.
@@silydragon5510 I know how accurate I am, man. That’s not always possible for me.
Ah so thats why the enemies have been wearing helmets lately

Venom Snake: Your CQC is quite adequate, Noah, I like the way you disarm without injury, Gemma I like the way you sell a hit. You two are my best Diamond Dogs.
Too many words, Venom Snake would never say that.
He'd just say "You're pretty good" with a decoy
Kojima would be proud! ;)

As the pioneer of CQC alongside The Boss. I also approve.👍 "For us. There is no victory.."
@@Ismail-tp1wn I add this to my list! ;)
This should have been done a loooong time ago. MGS is THE franchise to have martial artists react to
Yes.
Meh
Especially 3 and 4
They have to do MGS 4 too, or MGS 3.
It's all unrealistic garbage but it is super fun it's the one series I suspend my disbelief with well.
*Please make a series called “Experts Collab”, where different experts react to the same thing... e.g. Spec Ops and Martial artists/ Doctor... or Parkour Expert and Rock Climber!!!*

One of the things not often accounted for is Venom has a metal hand, so he can do things like knife and gun strips a lot more easily. Notice he leads most of his weapon intercepts and checks specifically with his artificial hand.
my favorite CQC move was sprinting towards a child of war and do the six millionaire dollar man rocket punch to their face. Good times

Here’s prolly another round of Gemma Nguyen’s stupid puns
"The face of ( phantom ) pain" killed me! Like always, its a pleasure to see Gemma and Noah together on Gamology. Are there any chances, that Teddy is involved in other videos, too? His knowledge on camera-work could be interesting for many other videos and games.
God the cqc combat in Metal Gear solid games are just amazing... actually i take it back pretty much most things about the franchise as a whole are amazing (Except for Survive we don't talk about that)
Only "redeemable" trait about survive was goofing off with friends
On one hand Metal Gear does stuff like CQC super realistic but then you have Snake lifting a Metal Gear or doing back flips onto rockets.

They GOTTA do the finishing moves from Mirror’s Edge Catalyst. Either recreating or reacting to them!

Gamology: Could you bring back Cameron and Israel to react to Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain again. But this time show them real infiltrations like from Prenatual or MaliceNX channels.
Ahhh finally a connoisseur
2:47 I think he’s actually hitting him with the rifle and not just taking it from him
Venom Snake doesn't just take the weapon but I wouldn't say he hits the guy. Let's say he pushes him with the weapon.
@@rigierish3807 yeah
Every technique they missed quite a lot... Game uses a lot of jumpcuts for sure, but they really didn't care about following the vibe, they were more trying to follow the global camera movements and doing similar-ish techniques that they are already familiar with rather than to really embody the soul and feeling of MGS... A bit of a shame if you ask me but oh well. People are happy with it I guess.
Venom snake uses open palm strikes and with open palm strikes it allows him to grab weapon easily and fluidly as his strikes stuns and uses the weapon he grab to shove and create more distance so the target couldn’t retaliate .
Noah Dressed like a Tommy from Vice City
That audacity in rushing someone is surprisingly super effective because the individual with the firearm thinks that they have the upperhand and dont expect someone to just yeet themselves straight at the gun thus shocking them.
Especially if the firearm user isnt trained.
most of the soldiers there are conscripted and sent against their will.

Wuestion for Noah and Gemma: What are the worst melee weapons to be attacked with: knives, machetes, bats, axes, hatchets, crowbars, shovels or maybe even brass knucles (since you don't see them that clearly)?

The way how they demonstrate those moves in reallife, concerns me if they get hurt. I mean hit in the face, stomach, nuts or leg.
They're all martial artists and professional stuntman/actor/actress. They know how to spar safely.
Source: I practice martial art myself
@@Codex_0613 thx for the info. The Actors now how to fake their pain and other serious injuries. But still I'm concerned. Even if their good as they are, there could still some Serious injuries, like Jackie Chan for example.
I'm not questioning their experience of waht they do.
@@N1k4_Gr1v that's why there are safety protocols in place. They may rehearse it before doing it for real to see if they need to cushion the fall a certain way, or how to support each other in case. Stunt work is not without its risks but nowaday no one is doing insane stunts like Jackie Chan once did.
One of the thing you learn in any martial art is how to cushion a blow and falling. So rest assured they know well what they need to do in order to minimize the risk of injury.
@@Codex_0613 true. In the past some actors did their own stunts but now, safety is important.
