- Mobility problems can be some of the most challenging aspects of living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). They can interfere with our family time, our work, & our fun! They can also be incredibly draining on us cognitively and physically.
Cionic developed bionic clothing called the Neural Sleeve that uses functional electrical stimulation (FES) with personalized algorithms to deliver electrical stimulation right where we need it to help with our gait.
My guest in this video is Jeremiah Robison, founder of Cionic. After experiencing the frustration of the lack of technology solutions to help his daughter who was diagnosed with cerebral palsy he decided to start Cionic to develop a tool to assist people with mobility difficulties.

Love that he did this for his precious daughter ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I agree! Such a wonderful thing for a father to do.
He describes exactly my problem what I’m dealing with. I had a stroke 11 years ago
Thanks for watching. Will you look into trying the sleeve?
Fascinating! The story as well as the device, and such an informative, well-spoken interview! And the pricing structure making it available to almost everyone, is pretty incredible! Thank you for sharing this!!!
Thanks so much for watching and the feedback!
I have PPMS and tried it for 4 months.
It has 24 electrode pads, 6 each for the 4 muscle groups- Hams,Quads, shins and calves.
The only ones that worked for me were the shin pads, which did help my drop foot.
Always kept the other 3 groups off as they stiffened my leg.
Wish they could come up with one just for the shin muscles.
But thats just me and everyone is different especially with MS.
Thanks for the feedback! I am glad it helped with the foot drop.
I will be receiving mine sometime next week. I’ve used several FES devices over the years. I look forward to seeing how I benefit from this product. I am already impressed with how the team has been in terms of outreach and customer service. (1/6/24)
Oh I am so excited for you!! Please let me know how it goes!!
How is it working out?
@@ckahlquist2129In my case, it most definitely lives up to the hype. It gives me more natural foot-lift than the previous fes devices I’d used. It also helps me to properly bend my knee while walking. I have a great deal of stiffness in my leg, so this a game changer for me. The placement of the various electrodes really does make all the difference. It allows the device to be precisely geared toward your specific needs. While I don’t have the same condition as the developer’s daughter, I do share some of the same challenges. I can only speak for myself, but this device is like nothing I’ve used before. I have noticed some of the cognitive load reduction that the developer mentioned. I literally don’t have to think as hard to move around on my feet.
In my case, I have found that it has taken awhile for me to get used to applying the device correctly. This is a small issue, but it is worth noting. The electrode pads do have to be replaced regularly. The app you use with the device is very straightforward. You also get to have virtual meetings with staff in order to assist you with the device. You will have an hour-long initial session before you start using the device. I’m still getting used to the device, but I am sold on its efficacy for me.
@@ckahlquist2129I’ve had it for a few weeks now. Once it arrives in the mail, you schedule a virtual meeting with one of the company’s team members. They are incredibly thorough with you. Your initial meeting lasts for about an hour. You can also reach out to them as you see fit. There’s ample opportunity for follow-up. The device uses an app which is very easy to follow. The device works great for me. As I previously mentioned, I have used multiple fes devices over the last 10+ years. Without a doubt, this is the best one I’ve used yet. Given that it focuses on several different muscle groups, it gives me a much more natural gait. If I were to have any complaints, it would be that it may take you a few days to get used to properly donning the sleeve. That isn’t a problem with the device itself. It just took me awhile to get accustomed to it. I will say that it is important to get your skin clean and free of oils in the area where the sleeve is attached. Such is important in extending the life of the electrodes. It’s also important that you pay attention to the app. It will inform you of anything you need to know, even down to whether an electrode is not applied properly. I can only speak for myself, but I am highly pleased with the device, and I look forward to seeing how much I improve over the coming months.
@williamwesley3157 thanks so much for sharing your experience.
Hi from Israel thanks for the interesting data gives a hope to Ms patients
Thanks for watching. I really is amazing isn’t it? It definitely gives hope.
I'm moving to America to get this sleeve 🎉
Excellent!
Me too
Wonderful video!! Thanks so much, Vickie, for sharing this informational video. Amazing invention! ♥️🙏🏼🌹🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Thanks for watching!
This is a wonderful device, it's like a more comfortable version of the Bioness system - and much cheaper. A shame it's only for people in the US.
I agree! It looks like it will be more comfortable than the Bioness. Definitely email them and let them know you are interested in international shipping. cionic.com/contact?a=info@cionic.com
I’m really interested in this device
Thanks for watching. Let me know if you decided to get one and how it works for you!
Thanks!
Thanks so much Van Dines!!!
I live in Brazil and would like to know the price? I found it very interesting because I have a fallen foot.
You can find more information here cionic.com/faq
this looks very promising, how does it compare to the Walkaide and the Bioness L-300?
Thanks for watching. The Cionic neural works on four muscle groups and the algorithms can be tailored to the user’s specific needs, whereas the other two work on dorsiflexion only to help foot drop only.
What is the actual price of this item if I wanted to purchase it right now outright
@@ppksrico5083 thanks for watching. It is a subscription basis product. You can see more here cionic.com/faq
Interesting. So, is one of the goals, - use the sleeve -- muscle pathways and muscle builds. Then, no longer need to use it ---? If so, sounds good.
Thanks for watching. For some people that can happen. Not all though. As the muscles get stronger and neuroplasticity take place there can be reduced need for the sleeve.
Do you think it could be used for activities other than walking such as running, skiing, snowboarding etc?
Excellent question! They say it helps with gait so I am assuming it could definitely help with running. I am not sure about skiing & snowboarding as those are not typically 'gait' type activities. Definitely shoot them an email and ask! cionic.com/contact?a=info@cionic.com
